By far our favorite restaurant on our trip to Quebec City. Was an unforgettable dining experience. Super friendly staff. The food is on a whole other level. We had the non alcoholic pairings everything went together perfectly. My wife is pregnant and they even catered around some restrictions with her being pregnant. Great food but they had two major issues:
1. Slow service. We got 7 servings in 150 minutes. That means we waited over 20 minutes per serving. I waited ten minutes to refill my glass as well. 2. I left hungry. Portions of this size are appropriate for 10+ portions but with only seven it was enough. 170$ to leave unfilled is not a good outcome. The pre-desert was a single mouthful and shouldn’t count as a course.
1 Michelin star I think fits well overall.

Food was fantastic. I was disappointed they didn’t have the venison that night. But the oyster mushroom dish knocked my socks off. The bartender made me a bespoke drink that was perfectly tuned to my meal.

Above all, the food and wine pairings were absolutely delicious and a treat for the senses. The progression of courses felt like a journey to a new place. The skill and visions took me home. How wonderful!
What makes Legende stand out from other Michelin establishments is that with this meal I understood much more about Quebec than I did before I dined there. I won’t spoil it by telling you how they did this because I really do want you to have your own experience of it. I want you to go and to have the tasting menu. Teaser … a whole cornucopia of grains has opened to me and will now forever inform my own cooking.
