This is one of those restaurants where you know going into it that it's going to be an AMAZING overall experience. We sat at the bar, which I highly recommend. I feel like it gave a more personalized, intimate experience! They really made us feel like we were dining with an old friend! Our server/bartender was amazing!! He paired wine suggestions perfectly with the various things we ordered, and he gave us a glass of this DELICIOUS wine that he went and got specially for us from their wine storage. They were also playing vinyl and having so much fun putting on different records, adding even more to the cool, fun, but cozy atmosphere. We ordered a bunch of different things, and everything was so well-crafted and perfectly executed. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the beef tartare. Definitely the best I've ever had. It was so tempting to try everything on the menu - and we almost did! This truly wasn't just *any* restaurant. This was an EXPERIENCE and one of the best ones at that. Buvette Scott, I will be back!!!

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly.

I didn't like my experience, firstly, the menu is very confusing, we don't know exactly if it's main courses or starters, we think we're ordering a dish for around thirty dollars, and when it arrives it has the size of a starter therefore having to have another dish. In the end we end up with a bill which is around $100 per person. Far too much staging around the design of the dishes, the waiters are very good at explaining in very (too much) detail with completely unnecessary information. In the end a disappointment because it was excessively expensive for the portions offered. However the sea bass was good, but the lobster bisque extremely salty and more pleasant.

I recently dined at Buvette Scott, and while the food was decent (not mind-blowing), the experience was overshadowed by rude service and frustratingly slow pacing.

Dishes were served one at a time, with 20-30 minute gaps between each small plate. After nearly two hours of waiting, I asked for the check, even though we hadn’t received our final dish. Instead of apologizing, the maître d’ dismissively informed me that “this is supposed to be a 2.5 to 3-hour experience” and that “we’re not in America here.” This comment felt not only unnecessary but downright obnoxious.

While the restaurant may pride itself on creating a leisurely European-style dining experience, the execution came across as neglectful and inconsiderate. Unless you enjoy prolonged waiting for tiny portions and don’t mind condescension from staff, I cannot recommend Buvette Scott.

From the moment I walked into this charming restaurant, I knew I was in for something special. The ambiance is cozy with soft lighting. The food was extraordinary. You can tell the chef puts their heart and soul into every dish. The attention to detail was remarkable — the pairing of flavors, textures, and ingredients was perfectly executed. The wait staff were not just professional; they were genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. It felt like they truly cared about making our experience exceptional. Without a doubt, this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The combination of incredible food, thoughtful service, and a beautiful, cozy atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience. I can’t wait to return!

Exceptional in every way, from the service to the food. Every dish we had exceeded our expectation. One of the top dining experiences we’ve had in recent memory.

Beautiful restaurant that gives the impression of being in an apartment through its front door.
The menu was very good, quite complex in the dishes. On the other hand, the price of the plates was quite high (but I know, it is because of their complexity that it deserved this price).
Sometimes I felt that the dishes lacked taste according to their description in the menu.
BUT
All the same, I am satisfied with my experience at this little restaurant and, of course, I recommend it, the menu is diverse, unique and above all very interesting :)
The oysters were very good and of good quality.
There are several kinds of wine too, and the waiters recommend dishes to go with the wine in question!
The waitress was super nice. And the other service members were really chill and welcoming.

The food was exceptional, and our lovely waitress recommended ordering half the cart, which seemed plentiful for four people. However, I feel ordering individual dishes would have been better, as some items, like the fish, were difficult to share in such small portions. While the food, ambiance, and service were wonderful, the sharing option isn't ideal for a group of four. Even nearby diners mentioned feeling hungry. It’s sad to leave with a $358 bill and still feel hungry. This option might work better for smaller groups or individual orders.

But thank you for the lovely evening

We had an incredible meal/experience at Buvette Scott, and it was a true highlight of our trip to Québec. Each plate (we had many!) was delicious and beautifully presented. The servers are all clearly passionate about both the food and wine, and were all incredibly friendly as well. The small space and intimate, casual atmosphere belies the quality and attention to detail in each dish. We feel fortunate to have stumbled upon it and implore anyone visiting Québec not to miss out on the experience.

Incredible cuisine with local ingredients and a new menu every week perfectly befitting the season. Excellent timing for dishes. The bilingual servers are wonderful and enthusiastic about the cuisine, which, paired with the intimate ambiance, elevates the experience even further. Absolutely would return the next time I’m in Quebec City!

Excellent! Both the quality of the food and the service! Refined local dishes without any fuss. Whether here or at Sardines. Cozy restaurant, perfect for sharing “tapas” with family and friends. And I forgot, best razor clams in town 😋

Quality ingredients + outstanding cooking + incredible service = A++ experience. Phenomenal service from Leo and will definitely revisit if I come back to Quebec City. Apple Tartelette was absolutely divine.

Food was good with fresh ingredients, but we were quite hungry after ordering the 4 plates recommended. Waited about 30 mins between each plate, which would’ve been okay if plates were more filling. Menu is small, as were the dishes, and modifications they can make for dietary restrictions was limited.

Great find on our recent trip to Quebec. A short walk from the old city. Reservations a must. I counted 25 seats including those at the bar. Multiple groups were turned away while we dined as not a seat was empty for 2 hours. Wonderful farm to table approach. They make their own cheese and pasta and butcher their own meat. Imaginative dishes and wide ranging, well priced, wine list. Food was great. Service was impeccable - personable, helpful, but still professional while fluently bilingual.

What a wonderful restaurant. The food, service, and space were all exceptional. All ingredients are incredibly fresh and flavorful. Each dish was exciting, delicious, and unique. Highly recommend stopping by.
Restaurant has 3 outdoor tables that are dog friendly (we visited in August), and the staff were very kind to our dog.
I recommend making a reservation, we visited on a Saturday and were able to walk in right at opening but the restaurant filled up quickly.
Thanks so much to David and everyone else that made the meal wonderful!
