Loved it!! I never miss this place any time I visit Quebec City 😄

By my faith, as soon as we enter La Chope, a warm and comforting welcome, straight out of medieval times, envelopes us in the reception room. Many kind souls under the portico, all a bit knowledgeable and very excited to feast on a meal that comforts the heart.
“By the crow, look at this atmosphere!” exclaimed my companion Boily, his eyes sparkling with wonder.
The inn mansion is vast, spanning two floors with alcoves and nooks galore. We are seated on the second floor, where reservations abound and diners fill the place, good humor spreading like a sweet melody.
“Truly, this place is like something out of a fairy tale!” exclaimed Evad, admiring the scenery.
A servant appears, all dressed in medieval attire, with a very singular name.
“I am Fossal the Lightfoot, lords and ladies!” he announces with a big smile, tapping his foot. “Scream my name or stomp your heel if you need me!”
We burst into laughter, and Butch shouts, "Fossal, bring us some water from the enchanted fountain!"
Fresh water is brought to us in metal containers, each thing having an old-fashioned name.
“Here’s your mead, I mean, your water,” Fossal said jokingly, setting the goblets on the table.
There are four of us, and so we order four royal feasts.
“Four feasts for four heroes!” Butch exclaims, laughing.
By the saints of heaven! Here we are served! 8 duck drumsticks, 8 sausages, 4 thighs, 1 wild boar stew, 1 coleslaw and unlimited petakes, accompanied by artisanal sauces. The portions are gargantuan!
"How in Merlin's name are we going to eat all this?" Boily asked, eyes wide.
We ate until we lost our minds, now bursting at the seams...no room for anything! All four of us wonder how we are going to get up with this extra weight.
“I think I ate for six!” Evad said, holding his stomach.
The photo speaks for itself... if you're still hungry after this, all you have left is the unlimited petakes.
"Petakes? Again? By the dragon!" exclaims one of the 4 of us, laughing.
You guessed it... no dessert in sight.
"No sweets for us tonight, folks," Butch said with a comical sigh.
The beer, too, is served in colossal portions, look at the photo!
“Phew, this beer could fill a barrel!” Boily said, holding his mug in both hands.
What more can I say? The food is excellent, the service too, and the portions are simply enormous.
“We will return, O King Fossal, for more of your feasts!” shouts Evad as we leave.
Satisfied, we are. We will certainly return to pay our respects to the king and his merry company.
THANKS :)

Great decoration, excellent food, kind and courteous staff. Great singer. On the other hand, when the restaurant is full, it's very noisy and you can't hear yourself talking much and you can't hear the singer very well and that's a shame. I definitely recommend this restaurant

We were a group of 14 and the service was honestly really great. Our server was Rigober on a saturday evening for a birthday. He was really great, had a great time with the staff and the bard. Food was good, drinks were great and the ambiance was awsome. It was my first time at this institution and honestly I recommend 10/10. Will definitely come here again.

I love this place!
The atmosphere is extraordinary, with the decor, the costumes and the entertainment.
The drinks are excellent, especially the sweet cocktails which are all beautiful creations, notably the Autumn Ophelia.
And in terms of food, we are well served too. It's generous and it's good.
I love Poutine Excalibur, original and well mastered.
Whether for a brunch with friends, an afternoon of board games or a company dinner, you will have a great time!
The staff is great, and I love it when the minstrel comes by to play songs (especially with the saw!)

Great atmosphere, the waiters and the tavern keeper are very friendly!
Superb place! The decor is really in keeping with the theme and the atmosphere is successful. The welcome is warm and worthy of the tavern owners of yesteryear.
Food wise, a real treat. As for drinks, the mugs are flowing!
A cool discovery during a short stay in Quebec. The only advice is that for an even more fun atmosphere, consider going there from Thursday to Sunday to enjoy the minstrels!
