La Souche - Microbrasserie (Limoilou)

Oh boy, where should i start!? Service was super friendly, food was awesome (size and flavour).
I tried the soup and tacos, simply amazing!

It was our first visit to Quebec and we don’t know what to expect. We got this recomendation from the local youtuber. Immediately we are ordering with the classic smoked meat poutines, onions soups and for the entree we ordered cheeseburger and chicken wraps. The onions soups is good with the enough taste of wine and the poutines is very recommended even for someone who is not fond of french fries. The cheeseburger is also recommended with the taste of smoky bacon. The chicken wrap is also quite tasty with salad and french fries. The waiter who serve us that night is one of the nicest waiter we ever encountered in Quebec, next time I will remember his name. Thank you for your hospitality and make us feels like a local who dine in the regular place than tourist who dine in a foreign ambience.

A great spot- we stopped in on Sunday and loved the ambiance. Diverse selection of good quality beer.
Servers were so so friendly- they provided awesome recommendations and samples.

Amazing drinks, great music, beautiful decor and space, professional and friendly staff. Poutine and burgers were delicious!!! Our group was extremely satisfied. It was a busy night, yet the staff managed to excel with customer service and timely delivery of food, including constant check-ups. Will definitely be back and 100% recommend!!

ça faisait un moment que nous n'étions pas allés à la Souche, nous qui y étions habitués. Déception ce soir. Notre serveur n'était absolument pas intéressé de nous servir (il n'a même pas daigné nous écouter durant qu'on lui donnait notre commande !). Que dire de la salade chaudaille... une poignée de Mesclun, des noix de Grenoble émiettés et des petits cubes de courges. Ne cherchez pas le fromage de chèvre dans votre assiette , ce n'est pas un véritable ingrédient de la salade. C'est plutôt un assaisonnement soupoudré avec beaucoup de parcimonie... 75$ pour deux, plus le tip (qu'on s'est obligé de payé à contre coeur) pour deux verres (pas de pintes) et deux assiettes qui avaient davantage l'air d'accompagnement à un plat principal. La souche qu' on a connue et aimée n'est plus! Dommage...

An impromptu stop on the road from Montreal to Charlevoix.
Very well received by Xavier, even though we were a large group who arrived late.
The kitchen waited for us and we ate very well.
The non-alcoholic beers delighted the drivers!

For the squid, at the end of November 2024, I found that there was too much breading and not enough squid. Even if it meant raising prices, I would have preferred more chairs. For the rest, it's no.1

Poutine and Dried pickles were awesome! Also try the Flower power and Christmas cake beer if you can. So different and so good.
