Had been here twice. The experience for the second time is obviously much better than the first time. I can see their food, service, and environment improved a lot.

The food tastes very well, and the price is more friendly.

The waitress is also quite nice and responded with smiles and good service. Definitely an obvious improvement than the first time with waiters.

A good place and recommend trying it!

We visited Sept 21, 2025 for dinner. It was absolutely perfect. The location in the old port area was vibrant and beautiful. The service was great and the food was creative and exceeded our already high expectations based on other reviews. I was hesitant to go there because I’m not a big fan of rabbit, their specialty, but I gave it a try. We had the rabbit rillettes appetizer and rabbit pot pie and rabbit poutine for mains. It was all just amazing! The atmosphere on the heated porch was cozy too! La pin Sauté gets my highest recommendation!

Absolutely WONDERFUL! The atmosphere in the outdoor section in the evening was magical. The food was superior and even beyond our high expectations. I especially recommend the rabbit pot pie. The service was fantastic too. Overall an outstanding place!!!

A truly delightful experience in every possible way. We thoroughly enjoyed the shared plate (tout lapin tout canard featuring braised rabbit leg, duck leg confit, rabbit rillettes, duck foie gras, house smoked duck magret) as well as the wine our server suggested. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely dinner. We were looking for something we couldn’t find at home and we were not disappointed. We shared the onion soup and refreshing salad for our appetizers. For mains my husband had the cassoulet with rabbit leg and I enjoyed a walleye filet. Delicious meal, exceptional staff, and great ambience! Don’t forget to book a meal here when visiting Quebec.

We visited it in 2017 and went back in 2025. Everything is so warm and stays on the same top level.

If you’re looking for a great dining experience on Petit Champlain, Le Lapin Sauté is a great option. Would recommend sitting on their patio (with heated lamps) to absorb the atmosphere of eating in such a unique part of the city and if you are lucky, experiencing a performance right next to you. Definitely a unique menu worth experiencing once while you are here.

So good we came back twice! This place is right in the heart of the tourist trap part of Quebec City but honestly... it's really good. We stopped in to get a snack of rabbit poutine to hold us over until our dinner reservation, but came back for dinner when the appetizers at the reserved place were terrible! In all, U tried the fondue, Quebec Discoveries plate, Rabbit Poutine, Rabbit Pot pie, honey pie, and creme brulee (and a flat white, but the coffee is nothing to write home about -- go to Le Petit Dep!). Everything was great, but the poutine and honey pie were the standouts. Lovely and fast service as well

Nice waiter and ambiance in the outside patio.
Food not great ... the soup was cold and low quality and the fries old and not crispy 😒
