WE got lucky! We arrived with no reservations but were able to score a table for 4. I have indicated that reservations are required and if you really want to dine her, make a reservation! However we had none but they checked and were able to seat us. The dining area filled quickly after our arrival, so again, make a reservation!
The food and service were excellent. 3 ordered the filet and I ordered the scallops. The filet was cooked to perfection. The scallops were served with roasted brussel sprouts, broccoli and small onions. The creme brule was perfectly glazed and the chocolate tartlet was to die for! From looking at previous posts, their menu changes from time to time, but I'm sure you will find something to bless your taste! All 4 of us highly recommend Le Saint-Amour and if we are blessed to return to Quebec City, we'll call ahead for reservations!

Been here many times over the past twenty years - both for business discussions and family celebrations. I’ve always enjoyed the creative, delicious meals and efficient service whether for lunch or dinner. It was introduced to me by two friends of mine that live in Ville de Québec…..and I’m very grateful!

Food is okay. I went for seared foie gras. The sauce is a bit too heavy and sweet. Steak was well cooked. The garnish got some herb purée that I’m not used to the earthy taste. Service is really slow. Food comes very slow as well. Bread is cold and I asked additional bread for three times to get it. Took us more than two hours for three courses.

Spent $630CA for 2 people and the food was just okay. We ordered the tasting and split a wine pairing. For that price the food needs to be incredible and it just wasn’t. It definitely wasn’t inventive food. The food was stuffy. Maybe ordering a la carte would have been a better value. To me, it’s the most expensive tourist trap I’ve ever been to.

Dinning room is beautiful and unique. Foie Gras Experience is a must. Entrees: scallops were perfect & Filet was a Top 5 ever. Service was well balanced being unobtrusive and attentive through out dinner.

Nice restaurant. No real complaints but in other restaurant of this class they take time to explain the tasting selection, a bit of background on the preparation and the wine characteristics. In this case it seemed rushed and they let the food speak for itself.

An experience to remember! My husband enjoyed the scallops as the main course, while I wanted to experience Chef Boulay's squab. Amazing! And if you enjoy fine wines, you will not be disappointed. Worthy of its Michelin recognition 👏

Renowned local institution for fantastic food in a dim, romantic setting. Very accommodating and versatile menu, attentive staff, and delicious food.

This is probably the greatest restaurant in the world. Amazing food, accommodating staff, memorable interior. If I could eat one thing for all 3 meals for the rest of my life it would be anything from this place. If you don't go here when in quebec it would be a huge missed opportunity for you. Even their takeout boxes with embossed lettering look like gifts. Go there!

Elegant bastion of haite cuisine. It was a near perfect experience. The squab with fois gras was a memorable creation.

An amazing place. The food is beyond belief, of course, but the experience is what truly sets Le Saint-Amour apart. This is a happy place, where everyone is happy to welcome you to this temple of high cuisine. And the value is great - during 7 days in Quebec we paid almost as much for far lesser food. Reserve with confidence - you will make lifetime memories.

THE EXPLORER

We drove up to Quebec City for 4 days of vacation. We booked a hotel in the upper old city so we could easily walk to all the historic sites.
We researched this hotel from home so we made sure to eat there. We went a little early as we did not have a reservation. We were offered a table in the middle but my wife asked to move. After a short time, the waiter came and moved us to a side table which was much better.
We ordered a variety of dishes but the best was the baby lamb chops. I also had two glasses of a very nice French wine.
This restaurant is owned by celebrity chef Jean Luc Boulay. I highly recommend it if you want delicious food in a spectacular restaurant setting.

The food was excellent, the service was not. Upon entrance to the establishment, there was no one at the host stand and the bartender waved us to come in until someone came to the front. Not sure if it was because we were one of the youngest diners there or did not order wine, but our waiter was barely present at our table throughout our meal even though he was at other tables plenty. It was warm on the walk up to the restaurant and we poured our own water after the first glass and no one offered to refill it when our bottle was done. The other server who helped dropped off our food for appetizers and entrees did a good job of describing the dishes. The zucchini appetizer was beautifully plated and very innovative in terms of flavor and composition- I have never had an appetizer quite like it before. The lamb entree was delicious and the vegetables were also extremely fresh, pea purée was superb. I think we did not enjoy dessert as much because the lack of service at that point had built up and it took so long for our main waiter to check in and finally bring the dessert menus. After greatly enjoying the food and service at Chez Boulay the night before, we were really looking forward to this meal and learning more about the local cuisine and Nordic food so the experience was not what we expected. The most attentive our waiter was during the meal was when he hovered over my husband to point out the options for tipping.

⭐️
Should’ve Gone to McDonald’s.

Spent over $600 for seven bland courses, two duck dishes, and ended with a mousse topped with olive oil for dessert — on my wife’s 30th birthday.

It took forever. Service was cold. Vibe was dead. Food looked nice, but tasted like nothing.

At least at McDonald’s, when the food’s mid, it doesn’t cost a mortgage payment.

Never again.
