Had the l'assiette gourmand there. The dish contains three kinds of very traditional food preparations from France, namely the salmon rillettes, the chicken liver mousse, and the terrine du chef with an assortment of fruits and pickled veggies as garnish. The taste was a little bland but the texture was perfect as well as the freshness which is more important than anything else for these dishes.
The restaurant does have a pretty extensive wine list, but the beer menu is understandably short and dominated by global brands available anywhere. But there is a local Montréal beer on tap which was pretty good.
Service was quick and friendly. All in all, this is a pretty good restaurant in a touristy spot.

We came to the fabulous restaurant without a reservation on a busy Sunday evening and we were seated right away Ordered the chef’s salmon was quite possibly the best prepared I’ve ever had , did not disappoint at all Staff is very efficient and attentive.

Reserved our table well in advance (>1 week). Attentive service and quality food at a reasonable price around the middle of the Old City. Ordered their Table D'Hôte du Soir and the steak frites were an obvious highlight. The accompanying salad tasted very fresh, while the soup was also decent. Good experience overall. Would recommend!

The food and ambience were excellent, and our waiter Marvin was truly one of the best servers we’ve encountered during our stay in Quebec City. We ordered the entrecôte express du midi menu. The steak and fries were impeccable. The steak came with a light mustardy sauce. I’m not a sauce lover and certainly not when poured over my steak when I do not expect that. But to my surprise, the sauce was fantastic. My complements to the chef. Great value also, steak $19 and wine $7. Nice place, great, friendly service.
The food... whatever you do, do not get the 3 course Entrecôte dinner. Get a different dish.
(1a) the bread was good (1b) the salad has no flavor and the walnuts were stale (1c) the carrot soup was ok (3) the main dish tasted mass-made and mediocre. We asked for medium-rare steak and it was raw. We had to ask 2 more times to make it more well done. After the 1st time it was still raw. After the 2nd time it was very well fried and charred. The fries were sub par. The meat has no seasoning and no flavor. (5) The dessert was good.
Side Note: the salmon rilette appetizer was pretty good
The service was acceptable. Nothing to write home about. Toilet paper missing in one of the bathroom stalls... it was not replaced for 1.5 hours before service and after service.
Dissapointing food. Service ok. Just meh. Would not want to go here again.

I spent the best night of my life at l'entrecôte saint-jean. Laura, Marvin and Eve were very nice and serviable, they made the evening very joyful and lovable. I loved the staff, the drinks, and the food, everything was very demure and mindful. 100% recommend, best place in town!!!
