My partner treated me to date here on our last night in Quebec City, and what a treat it was! The service was amazing, especially from our waiter David. He didn’t even blink at the fact I don’t speak French well enough for a conversation, and engaged my partner in the art of Franglaise. Always around when we so much as thought of him, David was attentive and always had a smile on. He also recommended a lovely wine that I regret not getting the name of.

We didn’t wait long at all for our food, which was surprising given how busy it was! My partner got the eggplant Parmesan that looked lovely, albeit a bit small in portion compared to my spaghetti and meatballs. Both dishes were equally delicious though, as were our desserts of tiramisu and Italian chocolate ice cream.

Definitely coming back next time we’re in town!

The manager of the establishment was extremely attentive & friendly. The other staff which were not our servers were as well. Our server David was a master at waiting & is what you would hope and dream for in a waiter. He was attentive & gave us recommendations when we asked. He had no problem switching back and forth between english and french for my partner and I. He was kind & caring. Our food was delicious. I could not recommend the eggplant parmesan any more. The tiramisu was also fantastic & had a great layering going on. The only thing I disliked was where I was in the restaraunt. I was in a corner by a kitchen window- which made it a little loud at times but other than that- i couldn’t give this place a better review. The prices were phenomenal. I will be back!

My husband and I ordered two pasta dishes to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. We asked for table for two. We waited for almost two hours and our pasta still did not come, the waitress were so busy attending one customers after another. We had planned to go walking around Quebec at night but we wasted our time waiting for our pasta. Like how long does it take to cook pasta? Then while waiting we ordered more wine and beer. I got tipsy with wine since it was taking so long, we were not able to do our strolling around Quebec then early morning we left to go home to Toronto. 😢

Tried to walk in for a table outside.
There were plenty.
I was told to stand in a corner and wait.
No one ever sat me. But I did watch as other people were seated. Never experienced anything like that before while traveling.

Totally amazing. Wish I lived there to go back and order more items. Seafood risotto was 10 out of 10.

If you are in a mood for good pasta, this is it. We tried most of the best rated restaurants in this area of the city, but to be honest, this was our best meal.
The place is not too big and can be very noisy and crowded, but everything we had was super tasty.

We ate at Matto on our first night here, and it was absolutely delicious. He had the filet mignon with the cream sauce and the steak was cooked perfectly and he loved the sauce so much the plate was clean. I stole some of the veggies that were part of his side and they were fantastic. The caprese salad was delish, would have preferred sweeter tomatoes. I had the manicotti, it was delicious and had the perfect amount of sauce, the best manicotti I have had. We sat on the lovely patio but the restaurant is also gorgeous. Even the timing between courses was perfect for me, I like a longer dinner service rather than feeling rushed, but if you are looking for fast paced plates this may not be the place. We checked the reviews before coming and saw how much they were raving about the level of service. They were very busy on a Monday night. The staff were very kind and our server was wonderful, but you could tell that the restaurant was slightly overwhelmed with the amount of tables.

very nice Italian food, beautiful environment in the heart of the old city of quebec. The service was good but short staffed as the girl working was running around like a chicken with head cut off.

Food was good, the pizza was good, but lacking salt. Got short changed on my wine because they poured the last of the bottle and did bother to top me up. Bread was promised not delivered. Overall chaotic and needlessly slow.
