Maurice Restaurant Lounge

Very nice atmosphere. Service was adequate, but food subpar. Ordered Wam Bang shrimp as appetizer. Menu said it included six for $25. We got five. Tough to split between two people! The shrimp itself was great. Pointed out to waiter, the discrepancy between number ordered and received. He apologized and said he would bring us another. A few minutes later he brought another whole plate with four shrimp. He didn't have to, but it was much appreciated. When we finally got our entrée, Spaghetti Bolognese ( It seemed to take a long time), it was barely room temperature. Who knows how long it had sat, or if it werenpulled out of a refrigerator! The noodles were under cooked, chewy, and almost crunchy. Very disappointed. Not what one would have expected for $30 a plate. We didn't want to complain since we'd kind of already done that with the shrimp. Ate it cold and left. Employees were friendly and courteous, but that only goes so far and certainly doesnt rise to the $152 total tab, including the almost $20 drinks. We've had $30 lunches and dinners that were much better.

Do not come here to eat - the food is terrible.
Pros: good, fun atmosphere if youre looking for drinks and a lively place, turns into a club.
Cons: food sucks and if you're looking to be able to talk to the person next to you, good luck - not a dinner vibe.

Pricey and food is mediocre. Wagyu burger was decent. Oyster was room temperature and served on physical rocks (not ice), which tasted not fresh at all and probably contributed to diarrhea the night of. Ceasars salad was horrible. Tiger shrimps were okay. Salmon sashimi slices were small and also lukewarm. Atmosphere was good, servers had to keep making sure the orders were taken correctly (which they werent). Overall bad experience. Do not recommend.

We had a Wagyu burger, Bave de boeuf, drinks and the quality of the food was excellent. The sparkling wines by the glass were excellent.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. We will certainly return to Maurice.

Was glad to see the maurice was back on the grande allée. Went for a drink as we were early for our reservation at another restaurant. We ordered two mojitos which were alright.. but 50$ (including tips and taxes) for two drinks is beyond ridiculous. Very disappointing, I'll go somewhere else next time.

The food and the service were very good. The beef wellington was especially delicious. We had a great bottle of Italian wine with our meal - pricey but yummy.

Great service. I loved the carpaccio and the tacos simple but very good. Also, excellent service from Audrey-Ann at the bar knows very well her cocktails (and for my girlfriend the mocktails)

The Maurice was absolutely fantastic. We loved our stay there. The room was beautiful. The restaurant was delicious. Lori, bartender makes the best dirty martinis in Quebec. Frank, not his real name, but he told us to call him that, was the best, he went above and beyond for us at the check in desk. Allison, waitress was so sweet and helpful. Every employee at the Maurice went out of their way to make our stay at the Maurice the best it could be for our 50th wedding anniversary.

I had high expectations for this restaurant and was really looking forward to trying it… but unfortunately, I was very disappointed.

From the start, our server didn’t know the menu well and didn’t explain anything to us. Several items on the menu weren’t even available. I ordered a chicken dish with a side of pasta — what I got looked like over-fried popcorn chicken, dry and greasy, with no vegetables or garnish. Just a few tiny pieces on a nearly empty plate. At $19, I expected much more, especially since no one mentioned it was a tapas-style concept.

There was a piano player adding a nice touch to the quiet atmosphere, but he was poorly placed and barely visible. On the positive side, the place was clean and had a cozy, dimly lit vibe.

Overall, it fell far short of the dining experience I had hoped for.

Hotel Maurice went above and beyond our expectations. The rooms were large and beautiful, the restaurant and bar were fantastic and the location was unbeatable. But the absolute best part of the hotel was Maxime!! He made us feel so welcome and we looked forward to seeing his face everyday. I would come back here just to see Maxime again. We will 100% be back.

D’amblé je ne fais jamais de commentaire public sur mes séjours à l’hôtel parce que mes attentes sont toujours trop élevées. Mais cette fois-ci, pour une rare fois, je suis très enchantée de mon expérience personnelle à l’hôtel Maurice . Nous avons séjourné deux fois à l’hôtel Maurice en deux semaines. Une fois en famille, et une autre fois j’y suis allée seule. Les chambres sont magnifiques. La propreté est irréprochable. Le service est impeccable. Tout est parfait. Du thé et du café de qualité nous sont offert gracieusement par l’hôtel. La salle de bain est luxueuse. Les lits sont ultra confortables. L’emplacement de l’hôtel est génial. Nous avons mangé 4 fois au resto de l’hôtel et tout était délicieux. Les plats sont goûteux et les aliments de qualité . Un gros coup de cœur pour cette découverte . Je n’avais pas envie de retourner à la maison après mes deux nuitées . Merci à l’hôtel Maurice pour cette inoubliable escapade.

Our experience at this restaurant was truly superb! Excellent, very attentive service from Sébastien, we feel that customer satisfaction is important to all the staff. The food was very good! The beef tartare was really something! Top live pianist. I recommend.

Wagyu burger taken as a meal, the brioche bread is not good. It would be nice if it was changed for the better. The mustard in the burger takes away all the taste, and unfortunately apart from the mustard nothing else.

The meat was also dry.

Other than that, good drink and nice atmosphere and music.

The cigarette/cigar smell is atrocious, it feels like we're back in the early 2000s. It really kills your appetite! I ate the worst salmon tartare and the cook must have dropped the salt shaker in my boyfriend's fries. It is irrevocable; I will never set foot there again! The city is full of good restaurants where the service is 1000 times better!
