Beautiful store, but lack of life and the products even if they are current do not seem fresh

Terrible.
I don’t know what kind of operation Paillard is running, but this was hands down the WORST dining experience of my life. I ordered a pizza, and let me tell you, the sauce tasted like someone scooped it off the floor of a Subway kitchen after a double shift. It had that distinct “I’ve seen things” flavor—like it was a mix of marinara and broken dreams. And the guy who took my order? He looked like he was halfway through an existential crisis. Like, I get it, life’s hard, but could you at least pretend you don’t hate every molecule of my existence while taking my order? He had the energy of a philosophy major stuck in retail—ready to cry but too dead inside to actually do it. If you’re thinking of going to Paillard, save your money. Just drop a piece of bread in some mop water and eat that instead—it’ll be a more authentic experience.

And although I can tell you, it's not very welcoming and above all, don't go there in PM at the end of the week, you'll find almost nothing there.
In terms of freshness, the cakes are dry, the sandwiches are not worth the price displayed.
Unwelcoming staff.
I wouldn't go back there.

This is the 6th time today that I've shown up empty-handed since they don't have any hot chocolate. I have rarely seen such poor inventory management. In all, I wasted 1 hour of my time, not to mention the fuel I consumed unnecessarily. It was the last time. Fortunately, there has recently been a Smith house café in Ste Foy with equally delicious hot chocolate.
Soup and quiche too cold, fountain beverage warm. Maybe just a bad day!?

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, typically French bakery, very varied, fresh and quality products, wide range of products. I highly recommend this place.

Run away, they are thieves. I asked for a sandwich and was served a crooked ham and cheese croissant for $15. Awful
La PIRE fougasse que j’ai mangée. Que du pain : où étaient les olives ? Très décevant.
Very disappointed this afternoon! I ordered the fabulous vegetable soup and I would rather say it was a vegetable broth. Where were the vegetables?? No desire at all to go back!
Good service. Good choice of dessert but given the prices it is better to forget especially given the size of the desserts. $2.50 for a macaron…, $5.35 for a tiny Paris Brest, the establishment is clean and there is room.
