Came here for a solo lunch and had a lovely experience. I probably walked in right at the last minute because most diners were already leaving, and by the time I finished, I was the only one left in the restaurant — huge thanks to the staff for accommodating me so kindly.
📖 They handed me the menu, and my server immediately and very politely let me know that they didn’t have an English lunch menu. Totally fine by me — I appreciated the honesty and effort.
🥩 I asked for a recommendation between the veal liver and the veal burger. My server suggested the liver, calling it a French delicacy. I gave it an honest try, but the gaminess was just too much for me. For the first time ever, I had to return a dish — not because it was bad, just not my taste.
To my surprise, they graciously replaced it with the veal burger, no fuss at all. The burger was massive — I didn’t even finish the bun or fries because I was full just from the patty and salad.
💫 The service was what stood out the most. In all honesty, this is one of the few places in Québec City where I felt completely welcomed and not at all awkward for not speaking French. That small gesture made a big impression.
✅ Would recommend for the warm hospitality alone — and if you’re more adventurous than I am with veal liver, you might enjoy that too!

Beautiful atmosphere, the restaurant seems classy, the food was very good, however small downside: my mashed potatoes were lukewarm and the duck leg confit was also.
There were 4 of us and here are our respective scores out of 10: •9 - Duck confit, would have liked it hotter •8.75 - Beef cheek, Coureur des bois was too present to the taste, but excellent cooking •8 - AA+ fried steak •8.50 - Rainbow trout fillet, I found the plate too big, the portion seemed a little smaller, the mashed potatoes were lukewarm and cold, but taste-wise it was delicious.
All in all, we had a lovely evening, and found everything very good!

I think I’ve had the best steak of my life here, and I’ve been to some of the most world renowned places in the world so this is amazing! The waiter was extremely nice and answered all our questions properly. Only thing I have to say is that it’s quite loud when the restaurant is full.
