My wife and I visited for dinner on a rainy and quiet Sunday evening. We had reservations but I don't think it mattered. The restaurant was connected to it's older brother and much more expensive, Continental. I mean much much more expensive. The restaurant was located within the walls of upper town and a short walk from most of the hotels in that area. We were happy to provide our winter coats with the coat check person who serviced both restaurants. My wife and I began with dinner salads that had a tasty balsamic dressing. I ordered the penne pasta with tomatoes and basil. I added an order of meatballs with my pasta. My wife ordered the salmon with saffron rice and vegetables. I was very pleased with my al dente cooked penne. A generous portion served with three small sized meatballs. My wife enjoyed her salmon which had a mustard and honey dressing. No room for dessert. The service was excellent and friendly with no language barriers. The prices were reasonable and overall it was an excellent experience.
Two senior sisters visited CONTI the recommendation from a friend. We had made a reservation prior to arriving. We both enjoyed our meals. I had the beef bourguignon and it was delicious. The serving was huge and I wasn’t able to finish it all. We both would recommend this restaurant. We both ate for under $100 with dinner and wine. There are two different restaurants in one at this location. The one beside where we ate looked very fancy, with waiters in white tuxedos and bow ties.
We are from California and have found the food in Canada (Montreal & Quebec) to be on the bland side. My veal medallions were nicely cooked with a mushroom sauce, but not much flavor. In contrast, my SO's beef bourguignon was excellent. Wine list was good with some nice values.
We were looking for Italian food, and the Concierge at our Hotel recommended this place. It's important to note that you must make reservations for dinner, otherwise you will probably not get in. We found the food to be very good, but we were disappointed in the service we received. Our waiter walked past us several times without looking in our direction or asking if we needed anything. However, it appeared that he had too many tables to tend to - there should have been more wait staff.
Lovely and welcoming restaurant with delicious and beautifully plated food. Pricey but worth it. Service outstanding. Definitely recommend.
Cozy atmosphere, good service and very good meal. Tables were a little close together but that was the only negative.
That was an excellent food and service experience. Everything worked out fine. Food was very tasty and pricing similar to Europe. Atmosphere at the restaurant was relaxed.
We totally enjoyed dining here. Our server, Meneka, was friendly and VERY helpful. She steered me to the beef carpaccio with parmesan shavings, and it was superb. I was thinking duck (which I love) and she recommended the Halibut (which I also love) with Bercy sauce, and it, too, was terrific. I forget what my husband had first, but his lamb shank was juicy and fall-off-the-bone delicious. This is a place to try if you don't have a place to eat. Make a reservation. It filled up quickly.
Food, atmosphere, and service was great. Would definitely recommend. The lamb, shank and antipasto where delicious.
Service was good as well as the wine selections. The chefs feature of Beef Bourginon on the feature menu, main dinner menu and price fix menu was disappointing. Overcooked and dry - but the carrots were delicious.

We had a great meal on a wet Tuesday evening. We had made a (earliest) reservation at 20:00 but we were seated at 19:15. We had mains, desserts and a few drinks. Everything was very tasty with sensible portions and well presented. Service was very friendly and efficient. Our bill including taxes and 18% service was CAN$280 so more £££ than ££££.
Excellent food and service. The filet was great. All the staff was very attentive. Our best dinner in three nights in Quebec City!
We ate here twice during the music festival. The service was excellent both nights. We eat early and didnt need reservations. I ate the prix fix starting with the gnocchi that was slightly fried which I loved the texture. I also had the minestrone soup. Not a big bowl but just enough. Made different than my Italian mother in laws but was very tasty. One night I had the beef bourguignon with noodles that was ok. I'm honestly not a huge fan of it but I thought I would try it. The other night I had a filet mignon that was cooked to perfection and tasty. Also 1 night I got a pastry tart with blueberries and was definitely fresh as was the canoli I got the other night. I live in Charleston and the food there is really expensive. These meals were very reasonably priced and of course with the strength of the dollar were bargains in my opinion. I highly recommend this restaurant as le Continental next door that is owned by the same person. We have been to Quebec 10 times and eaten at many of the places there. It kind of comes down to what type of food you are in the mood for because most every place we have eaten was not disappointing.
Upon arrival (Italian restaurant), we were exposed to the strong burger smell which was overwhelming. It wasn’t a pleasant start to the dining experience. The loud background music, ranging from Ub40 to Lionel Richie, created a somewhat chaotic atmosphere. Disappointingly, there were no pizzas on the menu, limiting our options, and the restaurant heavily focused on meat-based dishes. Although both my wife and I opted for fish, the dishes arrived overcooked, which left us quite dissatisfied. Adding to the less than ideal experience, the waitress attempted to top up my wine using another bottle, which I promptly objected to. The lack of attention to detail was disheartening. She did, however, recognise and correct her mistake. When requesting to swap the rice for fries as a side, we were surprised to be told that it would cost an extra $5. This felt unreasonable and somewhat excessive. Overall, it did not live up to our high expectations. The overpowering burger smell, loud music, lack of menu variety, overcooked fish, and unexpected charges left us disappointed.
We are here while visiting Quebec City recently and I recommend it! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun! I’ll take a moment to call out that not every restaurant would have taken the care Conti did to make sure my daughter had as much fun on our night out as the grownups did. I almost hesitate to write this because clearly Conti is a cool place to go out for a night on the town, but our waiter made sure she had what she needed and was included in the evening. Thank you!
