The worst food experience in any Indian restaurant in Canada. Zero customer skills, Unclean basement, Suspect hygiene. Doesn't deserve even one Star.We were visiting the area on Spring Break and stopped at this restaurant for our bi-weekly fix of Indian food.First things first.... The food that they serve as Indian, particularly the North Indian Chicken dishes that we ordered, tasted unlike anything we have had in Canada (Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary).We were the only family in the restaurant and they still messed up the order. The server brought out the wrong dish and on pointing it out insisted it is exactly what we ordered. Finally we called the other dude (behind the counter) who took our order and he agreed that it was indeed the wrong entree but then blamed the mix-up on too many orders. Go Figure.They however declined to rectify the issue and bring out the correct entree. Kept insisting that we continue with what was on the table.The food itself was bland, flavor less watery curry with boiled boneless chicken. No taste, nothing, just like chomping on rubber.The quantity was also pitiful, with the entree not enough for a 10 yr old kid.We later realized that we were also shortchanged as the wrong dish came with a side which they didn't serve.We also have concerns around the hygiene. The dude who we paid was having his dinner behind the counter, in full view and, continued to serve us just putting his half eaten plate on the side, without any effort to wash hands.This seems to b a bottom of the barrel eatery when it comes to Indian cuisine. Do not recommend this place one bit whetheryou are a traveler looking for your fix of Indian food or a local contemplating Indian cuisine.

Had this food delivered and got the butter chicken. Sweet, very different flavor than normal. Then we both ended up very very sick with food poisoning. Not a fun experience, neither going down nor coming back up.

WARNING GRAPHIC:Do you know how hard it is for two people to get food poisoning from Spices of India with only one bathroom to share. Three of us got dinner last night, two from Spices of India, and one from a different restaraunt. Guess who got violently ill? The amount of vomiting and diarrhea over the course of 24 hours was nothing short of absolute misery. If it tasted good to begin with you could at least give it that, but it tasted terrible. One of the worst Indian meals I've had in my life. I woke up shortly after finally falling asleep last night to a fountain of puke covering me and the bed. A final hurrah of what was left in my stomach from eating at this place.Avoid at all costs. Frankly the health department should be called to check on them.

In my life I saw for the first time a restaurant being run in a basement with pathetic service. Pathetic food got carrot and peas in vegetable Samosa instead of Aloo with no mint sauce, no ice and bad taste and the server was too arrogant. Dirty washrooms with no working flush and lots of mosquitoes. I will suggest not to even think of going there. I just had a bite of samosa and had to cancel all my food order and simply walk away. AVOID ❌❌❌
Even though we asked for food to be spicy, the food was so hot/spicy that it was practically inedible, despite our high tolerance. Ambience or service is also nothing great.

If I could give a minus star rating I would!! Unfriendly, rude and unwelcoming staff, half cooked and tasteless food. Very very poor service.. it was the worst experience ever. I wish I had read the reviews before I went there. They charge a mandatory service fee for the poorest of service. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. Disappointing!!!!!!

Worst restaurant and food I’ve ever tried. The place smells like piss and there are flies. They charge 15% service fee straight up because they know no one is going to give them a tip anyway. The food was not cooked properly. We ordered tadka daal and they gave us boiled daal with salt in it and for the Jalprezi vegatable, it was nothing but vegetables in water. Their license should be revoked because their food and ambiance can make people sick. The staff is full of attitude and they are scamming people.

We just had dinner today. Very tasty food. We had many different types of dishes and all were very good. Very friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. Portions are good too. Overall we were very happy and we absolutely recommend this place.value for money
