Visited during a Christmas / New Years vacation in Quebec City for our family. My wife and two teenage daughters all have dietary restrictions so we were very excited with the selection of gluten free / lactose free restaurants in Quebec. We visited Veravin on New Year’s Eve.

Food was amazing, especially the appetizers. Such a treat to be able to get items that are not typically available for anyone that is unable to eat gluten or lactose. As someone that does not have food sensitivities, I think the onion rings and cheese sticks were some of the best I’ve ever had.

Service was also great. As it was NYE, our waiter was quite busy and we could see and appreciate his attention to detail. When not serving tables, he was thoroughly cleaning preparing for the next service, even washing menus.

The restaurant is small but nice. The only reason we gave 4 stars (instead of 5) is because of the hostess. She was quite rude and ignorant. I initially thought it was because English was her second language but saw it throughout the night. When we first arrived she informed us that our table wasn’t ready and said, “I will MAKE you wait on the bench.” I passed this off as perhaps not knowing the correct (polite)words to use but after waiting for over 20 minutes we noticed that several tables (for 4) were available but being used to seat others that arrived after us. When we asked about the status of our table (which still wasn’t available) she was immediately defensive and informed us that it’s because the other guests were French and she couldn’t seat us at a table in that section with a French waiter. I understand that rationale and would have accepted that explanation except that I didn’t appreciate the tone / delivery of the message (had it not been NYE, I would not have stayed). And while I do not speak French, two of our guests are bilingual but it was never asked if we would be comfortable sitting / conversing with a French waiter. After being seated we noticed another couple having a similar interaction with the hostess.

Despite the hostess, it was a great experience and really pleased we had a chance to visit. Our total cost for four guests was about $500 (including gratuity) but it should be noted that we had two bottles of wine and other drinks. This restaurant is very reasonably priced.

Unfortunately the commitment to GF food may have been let down by the poor service. Three staff members observed us at the entry, where we waited a considerable time to be acknowledged or taken to our reserved table. The service just continued to be poor throughout our meal. The restaurant was barely half full, so that didn’t seem to be a viable excuse. Staff didn’t seem to have clear responsibilities - needed a Gordon Ramsey style overhaul. Food was average at best.

A fantastic dedicated gluten-free restaurant, the kind of place where people who don't have to avoid gluten would enjoy themselves without realizing that they're eating GF! I wish we could have visited more often. I had my first French onion soup in a restaurant in decades... SO good, as were the onion rings and poutine. I've never had Alchemiste beer before but I'll definitely be looking for it in my local depaneur!

One point to improve upon: the burger 100Gluten sounded delicious and the name is hilarious (at least for the French-speakers who would get the joke... I did but my wife did not) but despite all the layers, it lacked flavour. Maybe it just needed some ketchup, or salt and pepper. Unfortunately, none of that came with our food, and our waiter was missing for the rest of our evening once our food was served. I tried to wave him down but he was very busy with other guests, and I suspect his difficulty with English meant that he was a bit uncomfortable taking orders or feedback from the rest of my family (whose French skills are not as strong as mine)...but perhaps it was entirely because of other reasons.

Aside from that, the rest of the meal, experience and atmosphere was great, and had we been in town longer (or had they been open on a Monday or Tuesday), we would have gladly gone twice in one week. Next time! Strongly recommended! 👍👍

Our amazing experience at Veravin 2.0 turned out to be a pleasant surprise and a highlight of our meals during our week in Québec City! The space and atmosphere were warm and welcoming and service was friendly and helpful. We ordered a number of plates and sides from the menu and everything was phenomenal! Wine list was impressive. This is a gem!!

Exclusively gluten free restaurant with outstanding food. This may have been due to us coming on a holiday weekend, but it took 2 hours for our food to be ready after ordering.

We came upon this place completely by accident, booked a last-minute reservation, and happened to get the last room they had — what a lucky find!

It also turns out to be a dedicated gluten-free restaurant, which was such a relief. I didn’t have to worry about the menu for once. I ordered the fish and chips — something I rarely get to enjoy anymore — and honestly, I would come back to Quebec just for this restaurant!

There seemed to be only one server, but despite the crowd, he was absolutely top-notch. Even with the place packed, we didn’t wait long for our food. The music fit the atmosphere perfectly, and the food… wow. You would never guess it was gluten-free!

And the fish — not processed, not frozen — real fish! You’d be surprised how rare that is. Everything was fantastic, and I have zero complaints. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know!

It is such a special treat to have Celiac Disease and be able to enjoy a completely gluten free restaurant. The ambience is also very lovely at Veravin 2.0 - it is a cute little restaurant on the lower ramparts of Quebec. The entire menu is homemade, gluten free, and lactose free. I have been multiple times and had 2 of the 4 delicious gluten free beers on tap - Alchimiste, and the Monaco cocktail. The food is incredible: the onion rings with honey🤤, fish'n chips, mini corn dogs, cheese sticks, beet carpaccio, karaage style chicken, apple walnut salad, chocolate cake, and creme brûlée. The meals come out fresh & piping hot, though the wait can be a bit long when it is busy. Be sure to make a reservation with libro or you could have a long wait!

Truly an amazing experience. My brother had his first drink of the night accidentally made virgin. Hostess more than made up for it.
Our hosts were extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere was very laid back and casual but felt comfortable.
The food was to die for. I spent the weekend in the city for my birthday and Veravin 2.0 was highly recommended to me. I’m very glad I visited.
I ordered fish and chips, something I haven’t eaten since I was a child. It was divine. The beer too was very good. Sourced from a local QC microbrewery. Beats glutenberg 100 times over.
My brother mentioned it was my birthday and they brought me out this extravagant carrot cake that was so delicious you’d think you had passed on.

11/10. 1000% 6 out of 5 stars.
This cute and quaint restaurant should be on everyone’s list of must try places.
I’ll be back on my next visit!

This was the first 100% gluten free restaurant I have ever visited and the food did not disappoint! My partner and I enjoyed the onion rings (super yummy, great batter) and a glass of natural orange wine. For our mains, he enjoyed a delicious seafood risotto and I the fish and chips with poutine (the fish and batter were soooo good, but I do not recommend the poutine) I ordered a lavender lemonade gin cocktail and it was far too sweet but still tasty. Our service was very slow but I enjoyed the meal and the fact that everything was gluten free so much I really didn’t mind
