My niece who is in town visiting from B.C.asked me if I could take her to go and get a Beaver Tail because she remembers how much she liked them when she was in Montreal for a soccer tournament several years ago. So I took her and my mom who has never had one, to the Repentigny location today 04/03/22 at around 14h30. I told my mom that we should share one as neither one of us have a big appetite, and I could never eat more than ⅓ to ½ of one in the past. My niece ordered Skor, and my mom and I ordered Cookies and cream to share. When we received our order, I was shocked to see how small it was! I remember Beaver tails being nice and thick and fluffy, and they were golden brown, and really big. I don't know if they changed the recipe over the years, but this was not at all what it used to be. It was a really pale colour, and it was just a little bit thicker than a crepe, it wasn't fluffy at all., and it definitely wasn't big enough to share. The toppings were good, but the dough was horrible. I don't know if all Beaver Tail restaurants are the same, or if it was just the person who made it today, but none of us were at all impressed. If this is what Beaver Tails are now, I'll never go back, but I'm hoping it was just this location, and/or employee.
