Excellent Dining Experience at L'Echalote!
I recently dined at L'Echalote and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented—a true feast for both the taste buds and the eyes. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made the evening even more enjoyable.
Everything was perfect, from the ambiance to the quality of the food. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

As a Chinese, I can say, they have amazing fried rice. The grains are well distinct and flavourful. They also have a decent portion that can fill you up. Will definitely recommend.

The food is not bad but PLEASE CLEAN THE POO FROM THE SHRIMP!!!! ITS DISCUSTING!!! Me and My family had to take it out
It's not what it used to be... lots of fat in the meat, reduced portion, increased price.
I haven't been back since the safety problems, and I wanted to try again, but the quality of the meat wasn't worth it and the cooking of the chicken was questionable.

I don't like to put a restaurant down, but last night, me and my wife were still angry when we returned from the restaurant. We go to this restaurant at least once a week, the new waiter who has seen us several times, asks us again if it's our first visit and begins to explain the menu to us, um, nice but makes us feel that we are not important as regular. The previous waitress, a lady of a certain age, really welcomed us better, she left for a busier restaurant. Finally, we asked the new young waiter, 3 times for an ice bucket, each time he told us that he was bringing it, but, preferred to stroll around with a new one, it gave the impression that he was in need of an intimate relationship. Every chance he got, he found himself within a foot of her. My wife ordered a sparkling water, never received it, he even had to amend the bill so as not to charge us for it. Restaurant owners should take note, even if the food is very good, it takes away our desire to go back. Let's just say we won't go for a while.

Very courteous staff, we had a large order and everything was prepared quickly
The meals were disappointing. The tofu was cut into very large pieces. The meats were good, but some portions left something to be desired. The wonton soup was not worth ordering, several people in our group didn't eat it.

We were welcomed and served very warmly. The general tao chicken that I ate was okay but could benefit from a more spicy taste.
Pleasant little Jazz music in the background.

Yesterday we ordered (for the first and last time) 2 take-out combos for 2 people (each) in which there were:
* a tiny container of white rice (barely the equivalent of an apple for 4 people)
* a dish of crispy vegetable noodles: the vegetables were good but the noodles were bathed in oil which tasted used and a portion of the noodles was burnt/dried out. In the end nothing crunchy (1/5)
* a dish of spicy Szechuan shrimp: they were 'okay' but nothing special - it was the best dish of the order (3.5/5)
* a sesame beef dish: absolutely disgusting! (000/5) The sauce was not a sesame beef sauce and the taste can only be described as spoiled. The meat was not minced beef, but more or less large pieces with sinew and crunch. Yuck.
* a General Tao chicken dish: absolutely disgusting! (000/5) Same sweet and sour sauce as sesame beef and exactly the same taste as if it was spoiled. Here also the more or less large pieces with fat and cartilage. Yuck.
* a vegetable/chicken dish with cashews: the vegetables were good and the chicken acceptable (3/5)
Today, more than 12 hours later, the taste of stale and burnt oil, the aftertaste of the (spoiled?) sauce persists and still floats on the liver...
An experience not to be repeated and especially not for the more than $100 that this disaster cost us.

I stopped by on July 9 and had the chicken with peanut sauce. This is a dish I've had a few times. The dish was so spicy that I ate a quarter of the plate. I mentioned the situation to the waitress who only told me: the cook was heavy on the spices. Several customers were dissatisfied, the couple next to me also made a complaint. A restaurant to forget.

First time in my life this happened to me, I just took one bite and I couldn't continue eating because it was so bad!!! $20 in the trash, literally. General tao tofu: soft sticky tofu, full of breading and really disgusting sauce. In short, very bad experience.
