Cantine Normandin

We went there on a Saturday night,it was pretty empty with maybe 2 other diners, I ordered chicken poutine and was expecting chicken on top of poutine like they serve at McDonald's but I was surprised to see they served chicken separately.
Also the cheese curds were underneath the fries. The gravy was good.

I think they use too much oil in everything but other than that it wasn't bad.

The vibe and atmosphere was good. There's ample of parking.

I have been to this restaurant twice, with my sister, we had poutine and hamburger, and we really liked it. Very clean restaurant, working staff. We will definitely go back to try other dishes. Well done ?? ☺️

This was our 3rd time and we're not going back.
I decided to try the chicken which seems to be one of their specialty as a canteen.
The lady came to take our order to the table inside, which I thanked.
I had dinner (3 pieces of chicken) on a plate with the fries placed on top of the chicken, the pot of sauce, the small coleslaw, the bread, so at first glance you can't see the chicken.
Once I removed the fries, I noticed that one of the pieces was weird.
Looking at it more closely, I can see that it is breaded cartilage with a 1 inch square piece of chicken.
I went to show the piece to the lady telling her that this piece was not suitable for the 3rd and she told me for dinner we give a large piece (breast), a medium piece (drumstick) and a small....
She didn't even ask if I wanted a replacement, with a very NO smile.

The chicken is good but really tastes like salmon skin!!!
The fries are good as well as the sauce.
Zero atmosphere in a decor that dates back several decades.

On vacation every 2 years with the in-laws, we look forward each time to enjoying a big poutine from Normandin, always our first meal upon arriving in Saint Césaire :-)

La fille à la caisse plus bête que ses pieds et une poutine sans sauce. Je vais à se restaurant depuis que je suis enfant et je n’ai jamais eu un service aussi médiocre de toute ma vie. Yer temps que tu prennes ta retraite ma belle.
