Ho-boun used to be our go to for Chinese take out. We always got one of the combos. Now their website says they no longer offer the buffet, which I'm assuming means no more combos for delivery. If that's the case, then that means I'd have to order each thing individually...which costs more. And on top of that, I can't even order for delivery because it says they don't deliver to my address...which obviously they used to. I live in Deux-Montagnes close to the promenade....so it's not like it's far. Such a shame....
My husband and I ordered delivery recently from here. We ordered both Chinese and Indian food from the menu. The Chinese was good, as it has always been from Ho-Boun for years. The portions are huge as well. We ordered for 2 people and there was enough for 4 easily. If you’re looking for that typical Chinese food like you’d get at the all you can eat buffets this is the place to order from. The biggest surprise for us was the Indian food. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was fantastic!!!! Huge pieces of white chicken and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy The sauce was perfect and spicy and the naan was hot and fresh. We will definitely be ordering from there again.

First time ordering from Ho Boun in years, and unfortunately, it will be the last.
Pros:
Generous portions.
Cons:
- Very slow service (DoorDash driver waited about 20 minutes after arriving, according to the order status).
- Found a hair in the food see picture below. (called to inform them—was offered a replacement but declined, as it wasn’t worth receiving the same order twice).
- Poor taste overall: meat and vegetables had an odd flavor, chicken was extremely dry, and the General Tao was overly sweet and dry.

Great suggestions for the food by the owner. We had a good experience except the chicken 65.

Went for the buffet, overall pretty good for the price. Most of the food items were good and the place was clean. It was taking time for the waitress to remove dishes and fill up water glasses however. Overall positive experience.
I drove in from Toronto and decided to try this place while in Montreal, even though some of the reviews online were a bit off-putting. Honestly, I don’t get the hate. When I walked in, it was pretty empty, but the people working there were super friendly and made me feel welcome right away.
I’m pretty picky when it comes to food, but I really enjoyed what I had. The food was genuinely delicious — everything was tasty and full of flavor. Yeah, the portions were on the smaller side, but the quality made up for it. And the prices? Surprisingly amazing, especially for how good everything tasted.
All in all, I had a great experience. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in Montreal.
I've never eaten so badly. Really not good

This used to be a very good Chinese restaurant, but it's not anymore, the food is passable and I'm being generous in saying that. The portions to bring have decreased significantly and the prices have increased significantly.
When I ordered the GST exemption was still in effect and the owner charged it regardless.
Although we mention it to him, he tells us to give the invoice to our accountant to register it on our taxes 😳.....anything!!!!!!
This restaurant does not comply with our laws at all so I do not recommend anyone to go there because of an owner who doesn't care about his customers.......

The restaurant is fabulous, the food is delicious and the service is very good. I recommend this restaurant to those who want a unique experience and eat quality food. But the only downside is the temperature, it's sometimes cold.

So disappointed with my take-out. The "hot & sour" and won ton soups were tasteless and tasteless. Cantonese chow mein was just a mountain of noodles that looked like spaghetti, accompanied by a few onions and pieces of celery. If I had tasted it blind, it would be impossible to guess what it was! The chicken fried rice was barely passable, but way too salty. It's decided, it was my last order. I won't go back there again. Very disappointing.
