Bil is dead!

The place has changed drastically and the atmosphere is dead. Let's go back less than 2 years and we spoke of Bilpub as the reference in terms of staff passionate about beer, dynamic service and superior cocktails. The pub in those years had a particular soul feel with its old rock and Irish music which gave you the taste of downing that bigger Mac! Since the takeover by the new owner, Mr. Xavier Seguin, the place now resembles a kind of cross between a large advertising billboard and a cheap sports cage welcoming endless Christmas groups and mediocre cover bands that pay handsomely. Furthermore, the new staff is an amalgam of public entertainers with no personality, students who don't give a damn (because working there from now on is no more rewarding than working at Shacker Ste-Foy) and douchebags who look like they've never drunk anything in their life but Coors Light Lime. The cocktails drop the plebs by contribution before and we feel that several choices are made by lure of Gains (no bad puns). I find it a shame that despite the efforts of older generations of employees to preserve the aura of this pub, which has been open for over 40 years, a simple beautiful note is enough to make this place go from ″THE place where things happen in town!″ a ″THE place where you have your Christmas party at Cascade″ In short, I would like to put some respect on those who were there when Bil was a bar. They will recognize each other and I strongly encourage you to try all the other great Microbreweries that our little Quebec has to offer!

Very, very rowdy group of people at the entrance, yelling so loudly we could barely hear each other.

Person at the bar was laughing along with it, but the group had basically emptied the place out with their screeching singing voices.

I had gone with friends and my wife to chill out and play some board games... we ended up leaving shortly after arriving.

I love the decor and the staff were very nice, but not as quiet as it seemed on the outside.

Lots of difficulty getting it served, no beer refill and I was charged $3 more for a drink than the displayed price!

I went to Le Bilboquet for an office happy hour on June 18, 2024 with several colleagues.

The same evening, 3 of us (maybe even more) had food poisoning (severe stomach pains and severe diarrhea! We ate Nachos and a mixed plate of starters and only one beer! For me, I was sick after going eating in a pub is unacceptable!!!

Of course I washed my hands before eating and my partner who was not present and had eaten the same dishes the last 4 days did not get sick. The only difference is this 5 to 7 at Bibloquet!

The canned beer was barely cold (the employees advised us to get canned beer because the keg was even worse). Very slow service during the week even if few customers.

Unfortunately, things have changed a lot over the last 20 years. Having been ill I will never return again or otherwise I would not consume any food.

Probably with the temperature the refrigerators did not maintain the proper temperature (this is a guess because for the beer it was not cold enough to contain food).

I won't go back there, that's for sure. Service a BIG ZERO, food a big meh, beer ok. It's not worth the detour.
