My grandma - RIP - used to live in this tiny town, and we used to visit her often when I was a kid. And I hated it, because there was absolutely nothing to do. So it kinda boggles my mind that a brewpub like this is here, and an amazing one at that.
Small space, just a few tables inside, but a very lovely terrace outside.
The brewer was covering bar service, and we chatted a bit. His philosophy is that he brews what he likes, trends be damned. So he has beer styles you don't often see elsewhere, which is awesome. And the quality is definitely there. The polotmavy was served from a Lukr, and was fresh and clean. The grape saison is fantastic. Great beers to go as well.
Small snacks available, most from a nearby restaurant.
This is exactly what a small town brewpub should be, and now I finally have a reason to come back here 😁

Visited on April 27, 2024, in the afternoon. Located south of Route 158, off the 158/341 roundabout, just follow the sign for Distillerie Grand Dérangement, it's located next to the distillery, in the same building with the restaurant Au St-Jacques. A very small brewery with an equally small, but cozy tap room, with a few tables outside. Medium size tap list, but a good variety of styles, I had their beers before and I like it so far. Cool little place in the heart of New Acadia!

Excellent beers, too bad I live so far away.

Une ambiance remarquable, des produits d'exception valant le détour. Aller en ce lieu est l'une de mes meilleures expériences. Sur les milliers de reviews que j'ai fait sur différentes plate-forme au fil des années, je donnerai une note supérieure pour crier haut et fort le plaisir que j'ai eu à visiter ce lieu. Vivement un nouvel essai ?

Good beers! A staff of real enthusiasts.

A warm welcome from one of the owners, who spoke to us with passion about the history of his microbrewery. They have an ideal location just a stone's throw (literally) from a restaurant and a distillery.
I went there for a gift for a friend, but I plan to go back soon!
A place to discover and show off in St-Jacques! NB: In the photo, it's a glass that I bought on site, although it's not a beer, the container is really beautiful!

Nous avons récemment eu la chance de visiter L'Apothicaire - Brasserie Artisanale St-Jacques, et quelle expérience incroyable ce fut ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement par le personnel passionné et bien informé. L'ambiance de la brasserie est conviviale et authentique, reflétant parfaitement l'artisanat et la tradition brassicole locale.

La visite de l'espace de brassage a été fascinante. Nous avons pu découvrir les différentes étapes du processus de fabrication de la bière, depuis la sélection des ingrédients jusqu'à la mise en bouteille. Chaque explication était claire et enrichissante, ce qui a vraiment renforcé notre appréciation pour le travail minutieux et le savoir-faire artisanal impliqués.

Et que dire des bières ! Chacune d'entre elles est unique et délicieuse, mettant en avant des saveurs complexes et équilibrées. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la dégustation, où nous avons pu savourer des créations originales et innovantes.

Si vous êtes amateurs de bière ou simplement curieux de découvrir une brasserie artisanale exceptionnelle, L'Apothicaire - Brasserie Artisanale St-Jacques est une visite incontournable. The English road was good but we are IPA fans unfortunately there was none, small space but before dinner it is good for an aperitif
