Cake was not bad, but they literally had one job - did not confirm spelling with me when I came to pick it up

The first time we placed an order, they got it wrong. Gave this place another try, placed an order on Friday, got a call Saturday saying it would be ready at 1pm. Went in, they didn't have the cake... said it was impossible someone called us to say the cake would be ready this afternoon.
This place is not the same , pastries taste of freezer, some are tasteless or very little taste… opinion based on my last 3 visits, bread and pizza is very good still

If you are expecting a fine french almond croissant do not order the almond croissants here. The pastry and the thick filling were both a big disappointment .

Amazing zeppoles
The sour dough breads, focaccia and white/red tomato pizza, pastries and cakes are always fresh. There is quick turnover, items sell quickly. The service/ staff has significantly improved over the last couple of months, a lot more friendly overall. Christmas specialties (log cakes) were unique, fresh and tasty and well priced.

BEWARE! I promised myself I would boycott this place. Why? Because they blatantly ignored and snobbed me on two occasions. First I thought they weren't very friendly and simply not big on customer service (or just alienated to this concept altogether). Then, I saw how they treated their fellow Italian clients. Let's just say I understood pretty quickly that black wasn't their favorite colour and they make sure you FEEL it! And all that for stale substandard pastries and hard bread.. I do not recommend.
This used to be our go to bakery for everything. Their prices have gone up significantly. I understand everything has gone up but this is an exaggeration. How do you justify charging 17$ for a basic white pizza with no toppings but also charge 17$ for an all dressed pizza with pricier ingredients such as sausage and rapini? No prices posted anywhere and then they charge whatever they want at the cash. And on top of it, the pizza was not fresh at all. Staff always seems annoyed to have to serve clients…. Very disappointed cause this used to be a great bakery!

Restaurantji Recommends
I was recommended to this bakery by a very good friend and when I walked in I was appalled to hear an employee on the phone screaming obcenities to the person on the other line. The several clients before me were being served by an employee that was excusing herself for the employee that was swearing and arguing while cursing God and the Saints. The one serving did her best to serve everyone in a polite an friendly manner. The atmospheres was very negative. I didnt even bother to buy anything and I walked away. I do not recommend anyone to be served by such an unprofessional way with swearing and horrible attitude. Go To Serano in Laval. Everyone is friendly and no swearing while very professional welcoming and smiles on their faces.
A lady with blunt short hair older woman served me today by the name of Christina. She had a terrible attitude. I'm never going there ever again. no respect towards me .
Unfortunately need to join the team on these reviews that say the service is garbage. I can only attest to the Viau location. But I can attest wholeheartedly that the older staff needs customer service training/refreshers. Grouchy, entitled, argumentative. Really sour folks.
To mgmt, if you need proof review your video footage. You don’t need to take my word for it.
The final straw for me today was my experience with one of them who is training a newbie. The newbie was doing everything RIGHT until the trainer interrupted her and reprimanded her (in front of customers).
The trainer also passed over a customer already waiting to complete the payment transaction to serve someone else. When the customer said that they did not appreciate being skipped over, the veteran employee argued with her and blamed it on the trainee. Then the trainer scolded the trainee again and tried to pass the blame on her.
But here is the plot twist, the trainee was NOT the one who passed over the waiting customer. You, madame trainer made that choice. So you can try to twist the situation, but in the end you (madame trainer) chose to skip over the client no matter what the reasons were. It was you.
All I can say is: at least the NEW girl has enough business acumen to serve in an orderly and polite fashion. Not sure why you are bullying her and using her as a scapegoat for your errors and shortcomings?
FYI - trainer lady: you and only you were in the wrong. Why was she left to serve alone while you fiddled with a calculator? Why did you cut her off and put us both on pause to serve someone else? Your whole way of training is archaic and dramatic.
This specific experience with this specific staff member has convinced me to go from being a weekly customer to finding a new place.
Just dealt with a really rude employee with busted up eyelashes. Maybe she has a hard time seeing and that’s why she has an attitude 🤷♂️
J’ai commandé des bouchées: arancini, feuilletés à la viande, quiches, mini pizza. Tout était délicieux! Le gâteau très beau et bon! Une petite fille bien contente pour ses 10 ans. Merci 🙂
