Wonderful coffee and lovely ambiance. It's perfect for studying too. The only downside is that it's small, and that means that small noises can disturb more easily, but with a little abstraction and good headphones, it's a detail. I will come back, for sure!

It’s my favorite café when I pass through Sherbrooke! Their coffees, lattes, sandwiches, soups and salads (vegan) are all good and made on site ?Parking: Limited places and a little difficult to access!

A friend of mine and her student were treated very poorly by the staff. Given the rude behavior, I will definitely be avoiding this place and will tell my friends and acquaintances to do so as well

Me and my boyfriend live behind Café Nordik and were happy to have them in our community. In the past year, we have enjoyed having a coffee or a glass of wine on summer evenings. We have often recommended Café Nordik to our friends who live in the area to support them. Unfortunately, today me and a young student new to Sherbrooke were so mistreated that I am going to recommend that people in our beautiful and diverse community avoid them. When my friend joined me and I was drinking the tea I had ordered and she asked for a glass of water, she was aggressively told that she had to buy something to stay and then ordered her to go and read the menu in front of the café. She ended up ordering a drink (and I invited her for the drink). I understand more than the average person (coming from a restaurant family and having been a waitress for over 10 years) that restaurants need to make money (I supported them more than normal during COVID curfews and afterwards and it's extremely that I leave a tip less than 20%), but the way we were spoken to was hostile and frankly unacceptable and I wonder very honestly if the waitress would have spoken to us like that both of us had summer white. If that wasn't enough, when I went to pay, this (white) waitress had the pride to tell me, again with hostility, "You know, there's nothing free in life!" I said yes, but you weren't very polite to us and she said it wasn't polite not to order anything. I would say that politeness and compassion are free and that is something that was definitely not offered to us at Café Nordik. This Café describes itself on its website as "a bubble of physical and temporal love," but for us it was a bubble of hostility. Opt instead for Café Baobab, a café and community gathering space that provides a warm and inclusive welcome to the demographic in our neighborhood.I include my response to Sandrine above. It's your business and you have the right to treat your customers stupidly (including, regardless of the color of their skin, their economic situation or their language spoken) if you judge that they are not spending enough money in your business. establishment. If you find that this is a business model that works for you and that it corresponds to your values, so much the better! As a client, I have the prerogative to frequent establishments where I am not afraid of being treated with hostility regardless of the reason and not to suggest people frequent these establishments where it is a real risk. What your response doesn't include is an effort to imagine why I wonder about how we would have been treated if we were white. Part of the privilege of being white in a society where systemic racism is pervasive is not having to question whether, when you are treated in a hostile manner in an establishment or public space, it has something to do with your skin color. . For the rest of the people, we don't have that privilege.Indeed, we are treated in a hostile manner (here in Sherbrooke, yes! And it is worse for immigrants and refugees) so much more often by foreigners than white people because of our skin color, that it is an extremely valid question for us to ask ourselves every time this happens. If you want to treat all your customers who you think aren't spending enough at Café Nordik with hostility in an inclusive way, know that people of color are going to leave asking if they just had a racist interaction because that is such an important part of our invisible reality. If you're okay with that, it's indeed your business.

A great discovery this morning. Lunch for my 65th birthday with my mother and my sister. Beautiful presentation on the plates. Two clients were asked to move so that my 88-year-old mother could sit more easily. A big thank you to the owner for this gesture. The lunches are excellent.

Small cafe with a friendly atmosphere and several vegan options! I especially like their veggie-pâté sandwich, vegan version. It's always a pleasure to be served by the team and I highly recommend this place!
