Update 2024/01/29. Last time I went the food went down alot. Extra charges for cesar salad now, which was included before. Restaurant was FREEZING. With the old owners, this was my favourite resto for the past 9 years. Always packed and full of life! New owners doubles the prices and lacked the quality. Place was almost empty on a Friday night! Now it's closed for an undetermined period. Sad to lose such a great place.

Our dishes were cold. Overcooked rice. Vegetable we would say these were vegetables in cans. The pasta tasted a lot like cinnamon (too much) the garlic butter had no garlic.. just butter. The vanilla cake was dry..No possibility for vegetarians. Children don't have many choices.We were a good gang and people who liked their dishes.. unfortunately it was the last time for us

Hello, I find it really unfortunate that we are taking the time to make a reservation a week in advance for a group and on the day of dinner the restaurant is closed and the lack of professionalism in making us arrive there because they did not call us to say that 'they are not open and we have people leaving from Laval and others from Saint Basile le grand I don't think we will make another reservation in this restaurant

Horrible, worst restaurant in my life, service seemed to disturb him, it was cold, no heating, just extra, snail in oil, no taste of garlic butter, salad just salad, more oil as vinaigrette and frozen vegetables.

Was not enjoyable, , no heat in restaurant , the rice was cold and it was served with frozen vegetables like arctic garden not impressedPoor guy was walking around installing floor heaters while the waiters are saying the heat is just turned onNope

Have a good day AQRP we are a group of 56 people we reserved a Thursday lunchtime and we opened only for us we have known the restaurant for a long time and we wanted to make a change and get out of Chateauquay we are very happy to introduce it to our friends . horrible, I grew up in the area and grew up going to the old canal at least once a month with my parents. I was in town to visit my parents and we went out for dinner. My father had made a reservation because there were 10 of us. when they arrived they supposedly couldn't find the reservation and they persisted with my father, however, they ended up "finding it".We were at the restaurant for 6pm, we didn't have anything to drink for a good thirty minutes, no bread or anything before 7pm. When we received our plates, the meat was really not good, it had a rotten meat taste. In addition, all our dishes were cold. We decided not to finish, my husband paid the bill and we left. Really disappointing, everyone who ate got sick the same evening and even the next day. Really disappointing, horrible

My friends and I, a group of 20 people, went to this restaurant for my friend's birthday celebration. Despite the large crowd, the restaurant provided amazing service. The souvlaki and chicken brochette plates were both very generous and incredibly tasty. Highly recommend this place! Definitely coming

Two in our party. Broccoli Soup was tasteless and hard to tell there was broccoli in it. Fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and vegetables consisted of what appeared to be miniature canned shrimp, root vegetables, carrots, green beans and basically a white sauce, no flavour of garlic or parmesan cheese. Very bland. The other meal, souvlaki was cold and salty. We spoke to our waiter of our disappointment. He had the manager come to our table. The manager’s reply «  some people like it salty and some don’t «  We declined the coffee and dessert and he returned and didn’t charge us for our meal. This somewhat made amends for a terrible meal and evening out. Do not recommend this place

For the last 20 years, my wife's family and I have been going to "le vieux canal."Unfortunately, last night would be the last time, plates are OVER RIDICULOUSLY PRICED.First and foremost, we had reservations for 4 o'clock pm, for a party of 21 people. as soon as we settled, the server told us that we must be out for 7 pm. The first time we have ever been told that, but that's ok, 3 hours, it's entirely enough for supper.2nd. My brother-in-law took the "Table d'Hôte" surf and turf, composed of one filet mignon medaillon 3 shrimps and 3 scampis at 59,99$, when the plate hot served at our table the server told him that unfortunately there's no more scampis but they got replaced it with 3 shrimps...IT'S FIRST SERVICE, FIRST TABLE OF THE EVENING AND ALREADY NO SCAMPI, why not telling him before when we placed the order....But thats not all, they dessert that EVERYONE eats when they go to a greak restaurant..... the BAKLAVA desserts, almost everyone in our table always gets that dessert. To our surprise, the server told us that unfortunately, they stopped serving it, and we asked why???? The employee told us that they were excluded from the menu because I quoted him, "It's cost too much to make. "..........3rd but not the least, the cherry on top,When we receive our check we noticed that our bill and so my brother-in-law wore charges of 7$ extra, WITHOUT THE SERVER EVER NOTICED US, the charge description it's simple, we asked for a empty plate so can our wife's and us could share our 60$ table d'hôte plates....So my final thought after 190$ bill plus tip in an bring your alcohol restaurant..VERY OVERPRICED AND VERY DISAPPOINTED.Sorry for the extra-long text review.
