Very good dishes, great quality, but the à la carte menu is not suitable for a “normal” eater.

There were four of us and we entered by chance on a Friday evening after 8 p.m. in early October. A duo played piano and double bass. We had no expectations for the place since we hadn't heard of it. We quickly realized that we were pretty lucky to be accepted without a reservation because the place was full.

The setting is sober but cozy, you feel good there and the place is warm.

It's quite sad to see the negative reviews from some customers because the food is of a high standard and the service is impeccable. You should not expect to eat very copious dishes in a gourmet restaurant, there are other solutions if you are extremely hungry and you are not ready to spend $50 to $120 per person including alcohol to discover or culinary travel. I would like to point out that I am usually a very big eater, so I was able to find what I wanted there. A big thank you to Malcolm who gave us an excellent evening and who is an excellent server.

At the table, two had the lobster risotto and dessert and two had the La Grande Côte table d'hôte. The dishes were fine, with beautiful continuity, a carefully crafted presentation, flavors and very sophisticated cooking. I ate the best mushroom ravioli I have ever tasted there!

For traveling very regularly, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat local and gourmet, this place has no disadvantage compared to the cuisines that one could find in Montreal or Quebec, or even more generally compared to the restaurants of any big city European, North or South American wanting to be ambassadors of their terroirs.

Thank you to the whole team for this moment and particularly to Malcolm, to whom I wish a well-deserved rest after the tourist season!

Hoping to eat at your place again during our next visit to Tadoussac.

We ate at the little kiosk for lunch. We had a lobster roll and fried calamari. It was all wonderful. There are not a lot of choices but what is there is very good.

Parking: There is a small free lot right by the kiosk.

It was good but very expensive for the quantities. The 3 scallops were tiny for the price but I must admit that they are among the best scallops I have eaten, however the lobster risotto was also a small portion for the price and it was not out of the ordinary at all. my opinion. Also where I was there were a lot of fruit flies and the only suggestion I was given was to move one place (it wouldn't have changed much)

The best cuisine I have tasted in Quebec! We imagine a lot of research on each dish.

shocked at the high score... perhaps the food and flavours of the region are just not for me but the options were limited and this restaurant soured the entire tadoussac experience, the portion sizes were laughable, would NOT recommend

A real favorite for this restaurant, Cuisine, 100% local.
We were at the chef's counter facing the kitchen With all the explanations of each dish, the origin, the producer Etc. We chose the land and sea tasting option. Extremely well prepared quality products with passion. The chef and his team work a lot on the fermentation of food, which gives incredible and powerful tastes.
Lobster tail cooked to perfection 👌 just like the rest of the menu.
Cooking, dressing, extremely calm atmosphere in the kitchen You can only have a great time. Jazz atmosphere
Server Very professional With great knowledge of wine Appreciable!
It's worth coming to Tadoussac to try this magnificent restaurant.

Congratulations to Jean and his entire team for working hard 👏👏

A really pleasant atmosphere, with musicians in the background.
Incredible cuisine, I had the 5 tasting dishes, I was able to eat venison, duck and discover a fruit from the region.

Incredible experience! Delicious food and amazing time spent with Chef Jean-Sebastien and his staff. If you are an open minded “foodie” the Chef’s selection along with wine pairing was fun at the Chef’s table.

Refined cuisine. Well done chef, I'm still salivating; in a jazz atmosphere. I had an excellent evening. Thank you to this entire passionate and dynamic team.

Extremely good food, something for the fine palate. You don't have to expect mass. But we were satisfied and full.
The live music was also great. A lovely evening!

We tasted the 5-course land and sea menu among our 7 guests and it was a delight from start to finish in everyone's opinion, even the children. We had a warm and personalized welcome from the entire kitchen team and the dishes were magnificent and tasty. A gluten-free and lactose-free adaptation was made for my friend. This restaurant makes us want to come back to Tadoussac every year!

For an absolutely EXCEPTIONAL experience, opt for the chef's counter if you can.
Chef Jean-Sébastien is incredible. He and his team will quietly introduce you to their inspired Quebec cuisine.
At the chef's counter with the wine pairing, you will immerse yourself even more into the wonderful world of the brigade, one bite/sip at a time. It’s unsettling how delicious it is.
The place is nicely rhythmic and warm, the dining room and the bar are magnificent, the kitchen is bustling silently orchestrated by the chef. This is definitely a great table.

Thank you to the entire Chez Mathilde team!
