It’s hard to leave this review, because of the unpleasant experience we had. We got the Land and the Sea menus and this was our experience:
Waiting time was too long, we waited two hours to get our first meal course, and the waiting time in between each meal course was more than 30’.
The portions were tiny and overpriced, 2 out of our 5 course menu were good, but not as good for a fine dining restaurant.
We had three servers, where one of them didn’t know what he was talking about. Plus with the noise on the background it was hard to listen. Our questions were not responded and he promise to get another server to answer, but no one came back.
This was supposed to be our highlight meal in Tadoussac but resulted in a disappointing memory.

Amazing meal! We had the tasting menu (both land & sea) and both were creative & delicious! The wine pairing was excellent. All staff were very knowledgeable, friendly & efficient! The price tag was high but worth it!

Do not miss the 5 course blind chefs menu at this restaurant. Offered featuring seafood or meat as the protein, with or without truly excellent wine pairings.
Presentation was simple and portion size perfect for the five courses. We left feeling g completely satisfied and not stuffed to the gills (an initial worry). Since two of us were at dinner, we each chose the different menu, so we had the joy of tasting ten separate dishes during the evening.
Service was exceptional, with two servers delivering and explaining each dish and wine pairings, a mid meal visit from the maître'd and a final checkup from the bartender responsible for the wine pairings.
A must visit when in town.
The recently awarded Michelin mention. Is well deserved.

I had an unforgettable dining experience at Chez Mathilde. I was seated at the chef’s counter, which allowed me to watch the magic happen in the kitchen up close. What made it truly special was how the chef took the time to explain each ingredient and dish as it was prepared and served. It felt personal, thoughtful, and elevated the entire experience. The attention to detail, both in flavor and presentation, was exceptional. You can really feel the passion behind every plate. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine food and genuine hospitality.

Portions vraiment petites , nous avions tous encore faim après. Le repas était bon mais vraiment minuscule. Pour le prix c’est trop petit.
Very good dishes, great quality, but the à la carte menu is not suitable for a “normal” eater.

There were four of us and we entered by chance on a Friday evening after 8 p.m. in early October. A duo played piano and double bass. We had no expectations for the place since we hadn't heard of it. We quickly realized that we were pretty lucky to be accepted without a reservation because the place was full.
The setting is sober but cozy, you feel good there and the place is warm.
It's quite sad to see the negative reviews from some customers because the food is of a high standard and the service is impeccable. You should not expect to eat very copious dishes in a gourmet restaurant, there are other solutions if you are extremely hungry and you are not ready to spend $50 to $120 per person including alcohol to discover or culinary travel. I would like to point out that I am usually a very big eater, so I was able to find what I wanted there. A big thank you to Malcolm who gave us an excellent evening and who is an excellent server.
At the table, two had the lobster risotto and dessert and two had the La Grande Côte table d'hôte. The dishes were fine, with beautiful continuity, a carefully crafted presentation, flavors and very sophisticated cooking. I ate the best mushroom ravioli I have ever tasted there!
For traveling very regularly, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat local and gourmet, this place has no disadvantage compared to the cuisines that one could find in Montreal or Quebec, or even more generally compared to the restaurants of any big city European, North or South American wanting to be ambassadors of their terroirs.
Thank you to the whole team for this moment and particularly to Malcolm, to whom I wish a well-deserved rest after the tourist season!
Hoping to eat at your place again during our next visit to Tadoussac.

We ate at the little kiosk for lunch. We had a lobster roll and fried calamari. It was all wonderful. There are not a lot of choices but what is there is very good.
Parking: There is a small free lot right by the kiosk.

It was good but very expensive for the quantities. The 3 scallops were tiny for the price but I must admit that they are among the best scallops I have eaten, however the lobster risotto was also a small portion for the price and it was not out of the ordinary at all. my opinion. Also where I was there were a lot of fruit flies and the only suggestion I was given was to move one place (it wouldn't have changed much)

shocked at the high score... perhaps the food and flavours of the region are just not for me but the options were limited and this restaurant soured the entire tadoussac experience, the portion sizes were laughable, would NOT recommend

A real favorite for this restaurant, Cuisine, 100% local.
We were at the chef's counter facing the kitchen With all the explanations of each dish, the origin, the producer Etc. We chose the land and sea tasting option. Extremely well prepared quality products with passion. The chef and his team work a lot on the fermentation of food, which gives incredible and powerful tastes.
Lobster tail cooked to perfection 👌 just like the rest of the menu.
Cooking, dressing, extremely calm atmosphere in the kitchen You can only have a great time. Jazz atmosphere
Server Very professional With great knowledge of wine Appreciable!
It's worth coming to Tadoussac to try this magnificent restaurant.
Congratulations to Jean and his entire team for working hard 👏👏
