I wish the General Cafe were in my neighborhood. It has such a good vibe and is clearly a star of the local community. We went twice; the first morning there was already a line at the door when they opened at 8 am and people were joking with the staff that the door wasn’t unlocked the second it turned 8:00! People clearly love this place, and with good reason.
I got the Mec Vegan both times I went (unfortunately I didn’t get to try the lunch menu) and it was excellent. The second day was a little better but I think maybe I was just hungrier, haha. I got it once with potatoes and once without. The potatoes are really good but you honestly don’t need them because the sandwich is really filling.
Coffee and tea were also great!

I got the MEC vegan sandwich with potatoes. Can't rave enough about this sandwich. It was everything I wanted and more! Their vegan options also had a generous portion of protein, almost like they know how to make a nutritionally balanced meal!

Stopped in after walking around the p’tit train du nord for a late breakfast and coffee and it did not disappoint. The warm and cozy interior makes for the perfect environment to enjoy the tasty food and fresh coffee. We got the bacon and ham eggs Benedict and an egg sandwich with potato’s and they were very good. Stayed to do some laptop work and reading. Would recommend forsure and will be back.

Et quelle merveilleuse découverte ! Le meilleur latte au lait avoine que j’ai bu de ma vie…. Et que dire de la nourriture ! Tout n’est pas vegan mais il y a beaucoup d’options. ( aussi pour les gluten free)
Leur potage divin est préparé chaque jour et est toujours vegan et sans gluten
Le notre était patates douces, panais et crème de soya ❤️ nous avons mangé avec ça un BLT vegan et leur sandwich au tempeh fait de pois jaune dans une sauce bbq maison 😍
Nous avons fini avec leur muffin maison vegan à base de sarrasin, quel délice aux framboises et chocolat noir.
Un incontournable pour les vegans de passage à Val David
