As far as pub food is concerned it was ok (nothing special, just average). What was surprising (and not in a good way) is the fact that they still have not evolved to this century: only cash is accepted. Not to mention that you have one waitress for alcohol and a different one for food so you end-up paying two bills. Don't get me wrong they were both friendly but I don't remember the last time I had to pay cash.
Everything is perfect, it's the restaurant-bar par excellence until you have to pay. completely ridiculous: count your pennies because the food and drinks are on 2 separate bills and it's cash only. If it wasn't for that, we'd be here as a gang of guys every week.
Admittedly we had a large group which can always be challenging, but service was slow (1 hour wait for food) in a restaurant that was 20% full. Waitress was nice overall, but a little snippy - beware the fool that orders fries with a burger (they come on separate plates at this place) and doesn't claim their fries!
