I go to Val d'Or three or four times a year for work, and Le Prospecteur is always the first restaurant on the list, and sometimes we find a way to go there twice.Last time, I was disappointed in terms of food. The fish and chips were ordinary, very very ordinary. No wow and damn it was dry. Really overcooked.This is the first time after so many times that I have come away telling myself that I will not come back during my stay.But, I will be in the area from 02/13 to 02/23, and I will go back.I tell myself that it happens to any cook to have a bad evening.The law of averages.

K'ai fait une reservation pour une ta le basse et sans me demandé ils ont changer ma reservation pour une table Haute. J'ai du argumenté pour avoir une table basse. Mais cet fois avec un delai a respecter pour la sortie. Je devais quand meme partir vite

La deco a toujours un petit qq chose d'original en fonction de la Fête (halloween, Noël, etc..) et qui donne le ton à l'ambiance générale !! Personnel connaît bien les produits, même les bières saisonnières et kombucha; ils sont donc de bons conseils.

In my opinion, you are the best microbrewery in Quebec. I love the pickaxe head and the double pickaxe head and what about your Imperial Ulrick ?. Excellent service from Nico, bartender.The service in the dining room often leaves something to be desired, but if we're honest, I was served by Danny on my last two visits and he gave me impeccable service.The beer is good and the menu offers excellent value for money. Their warm goat's cheese salad, served with cranberry chutney, is excellent... if the waitress doesn't let the cheese cool, of course. Ask for your bill and check everything carefully, some waitresses make “mistakes”.The music is often too loud in the room and when I want to choose a place where I want to chat with my guests, I take that into consideration. Most of the time, this is not a place to have a conversation.The store has a variety of merchandise and beer that can please everyone and the service is always friendly.

I was passing through Val d’Or alone without really knowing where to go to eat or have a drink. I stopped at the prospector… wow, a great experience, incredible service with Nico who gave me very good advice and helped me discover great things! I ate simple, authentic and delicious cuisine! On my next visit to Val d’Or it’s incredible!
