⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolutely outstanding dining experience! From the moment we walked into Viola Cucina, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The atmosphere is inviting and full of charm, and you can feel the passion behind everything they do.
Every dish we ordered was perfection. The pasta bolognese featured soft, freshly made pasta with a rich, flavorful sauce that tasted like true Italian comfort. The salmon was one of the best I’ve had in years, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The chicken thighs were unique and expertly prepared, showing real creativity in the kitchen.
We finished with dessert: an espresso, luscious tiramisu, Viola’s own carrot cake recipe, and creamy ice cream. All were outstanding.
It takes a lot of hard work and heart to deliver excellence at every level—food, service, and atmosphere—but Viola Cucina does it effortlessly. What an extraordinary experience from start to finish. We can’t wait to return! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Before I talk about the food let me just tell you, Phil is one of the best serves I’ve ever had in all my years of dining. Super nice and easy to talk to. The food was hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. The focaccia was great. The calamari was phenomenal. The pasta special, I’d eat daily.

Hands down the best authentic Italian restaurant in Rhode Island. Impeccable service and attention to detail. Daily specials are amazing! Donald and Ali are an amazing team. We love the house made focaccia, calamari, parmigiana di melanzane, little necks, veal and peas for appetizers, all the salads and bolognese, gnocchi, sausage, and Robbie, risotto, Milanese, all the chicken dishes, pork chop, and grilled sirloin. So much more to try! Oh and don't forget the Percy wine selection and Ali makes the best espresso martini 🍸 Amazing! You must make a reservation. I know my review of Viola Cucina may come across as bias because I have known the owner since high school, but I assure you this is not the case. In fact, it took me over a year from when he opened to finally make it down to visit his restaurant. My wife and I went here last Thursday evening and was greeted by the owner Don as we entered (It was nice to see him again). We were seated at the bar where his wife Allie was the bartender. We started out with two great cocktails. Allie was very pleasant and makes for great conversation. The first thing my wife pointed out was how calming the restaurant looked and how inviting the décor was. We started off by ordering the calamari because we read all the reviews of how outstanding others found it to be. Well, it did not disappoint. The calamari were perfectly cooked and comes served with a lemon garlic that was so tasteful yet not overpowering. Next, Don sent us a plate of his house meatballs which are served over whipped ricotta. If you ask me, one true test to a great Italian restaurant is its meatballs. Like their calamari, the meatballs did not disappoint. In fact, they may have been some of the best meatballs I ever had. By serving over the whipped ricotta, it allows you the opportunity to alter the taste as you wish. Finally, for dinner I had the chicken parmigiana, which technically is not on the menu but as I read in other reviews is made to order. The chicken is fried just right in seasoned breadcrumbs and is tender while the pasta was delicious. My wife decided on the gnocchi bolognese which is done with pomodoro, mozzarella, and just the right amount of basil. My wife simply called her dish “outstanding” In closing I will say, what Don has accomplished at Viola is more than just great Italian food. He captured an establishment that you not only come to eat, but to come to enjoy the atmosphere, company, and enjoyment of friends and family. Exactly what every Italian restaurant should strive for. Fantastic meal and even better service! My guest and I were immediately seated and greeted by our server, Phil, who guided us through the menu and was beyond kind. We started with the calamari as our appetizer, but Phil let us know it might be slightly delayed, a delay we barely noticed thanks to the staff’s timeliness. Without hesitation, he brought us a complimentary meatball appetizer while we waited. The calamari arrived hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked, and both starters were absolutely delicious. Our entrées were beyond flavorful, and we ended the meal with one of the best tiramisus we’ve ever had. A truly memorable dining experience from start to finish!
