When I first went there at the beginning of Covid we really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately it went downhill the last two times. Went in July, came home with cold food and chowder that tasted sour. I figured everyone makes mistakes so let’s we tried again tonight. Was originally told 35 -45 minutes. When we got there at 45 minutes we were told they were just waiting on clam cakes. So another 15 minutes that took. We ordered fish and chips, chowder and clam cakes. The clam cakes were not cooked all the way in the middle and not edible. The French fries are cold. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

Great place to grab casual lunch or dinner: lobster roll, fish and chips, scallops, clams, clam cakes, etc. Very reasonably priced. The best clam chowder in town. Cash only. My favorite place when I don’t want to cook. They often run combos for two: two plates (fish, scallops, etc.), two cups of chowder, and have a dozen clam cakes. They now run shorter hours due to Covid: Monday-Friday 10 - 730 Saturday 11-730 and Sunday 12-630

Absolutely horrible I just ordered chicken fingers from this place for my children and it was completely raw in the middle of all them. How incompetent can you people be?

The food was very good. Only thing I would suggest is lobster fork and some seawater to rinse steamers but other then that food was great. Also if you have people eat out on the deck it need a good sweeping.

We went out for dinner at the Coventry Benny's clam shack and we highly disappointed. We wanted chowder and clamcakes and they ran out of clamcakes???how does a clamshack run out of clamcake??so I ordered the fisherman's plater and they forgot my fish in the fisherman platter?? How does that happen. Then when the bill came we gave our credit card to pay and was told they take cash only???? Good thing we had cash. Do you think they should of told us ahead of time about the credit card thing before we ordered??? There was only 6 people eating there on a Saturday night at prime time of dinner...we will not be going back....

for a little place they turn out great food.anything from weiners to fried clams dinners. lots of too go customers. low prices,large portions.fast service and food is always good... I sit at a little table inside as it is the only place to sit inside.I have gotten to know the chef and he is a neat guy. Low prices for sure.so great fried clams,scollops,fish and chips burgers,dogs, some afternoon low price specials are shown on a crude sign outside. a great ,fun place with the best take out around. very clean, a true gem.

If you are looking to use the rest room or a credit card you should go down the road. But if you want properly cooked sea scallops and big shrimp in your fisherman’s platter instead of small, overfried seafood this is the place.
Stopped for lunch on a Tuesday. NO bathrooms. NO credit cards. Two strikes before the food came, which took much too long and they weren’t busy. The clear chowder was more like potato soup. The saving grace were the clam cakes. They were excellent

We were pleasantly surprised. The place looks small with limited seating in the off season. There is outside seating in warmer weather. We have been a few times and the food is good and reasonably priced. The first time we had New York System whiners which were very authentic. This time I had the clam strips platter and it was very good compared to other clam shacks in the area. Basic hot dog also good with grilled New England style roll.

He has weiners and burgers and fries and they are all great,really. and low prices will blow your mind. Fresh made to order. Fried clams the whole ones fill the plate with a huge mound of fries.scollops come the same way. so rush on down to this bright red looks like a falling down diner place and order to go and have great food.
