The wings are good, but we waited over an hour for fried food! One guy doing everything. They were out of a lot of items on the menu by 6 pm. Very pricey. Will not be returning.

Don't go.......save your money. I am providing an updated review. It has been two years since I visited the clam shack. Unfortunately, I will not return. I ordered two clam strip platters and chowder. I am not even sure what I received. The clam strips were not strips at all. they were blobs of batter with very stringy and tough clam strips inside. Nothing like I had two years ago!! The batter was different the clams were not edible. They were out of many of their offerings. The New England clam chowder was flavorless with hard potatoes. In addition, the price per clam strip order was $30. This is ridiculously high. And there were approximately 10 clams per order. The individual working the window was pleasant. Service was not an issue. However food quality and price is the reason I will not be returning.

Where do I begin! I start ordering for me and my partner, and half of the items are out of stock. Okay, I understand. So then we want to not place an order at all. Guess what, we cannot because apparently they have already started making my order and so I have to pay!! When I make fuss about it, then the cook manages to get enough for one order of an item otherwise out of stock!!! Okay, good. I want to pay and it's cash only!! No where they cared to write that Then we wait for 15mins only to hear that their hot dogs are frozen and they need to thaw it. And he doesn't want to do it. What the crap!! Lesson learned and I am not coming back.

We stopped at Benny's Clam Shack for a quick lunch before the ride home. The clam strip rolls were exactly what I was hoping to get! Nice portion size, quick, fries and clams cooked perfectly. Reasonbly priced. The outside picnic tables were also a nice place to enjoy our quick lunch.

Salt, salt, salt. Everything was so salty that it was almost inedible. Fish and chips, chowder, clam cakes, not really good. And not cheap at all.

This small joint has the best wings I have ever tasted. The wings are huge and tender, and the sauces are absolutely delicious. Now that I've tasted them, I will be a regular customer.

It's Bennys wing shack now! And these wings are ON POINT!! Best wings in the area for sure. I highly recommend checking them out and getting the dry rubs!!! Mmmmmmmmmm

For the best jumbo buffalo wings in RI, this is the place, bar none. You can order a large choice of chicken flavors but I recommend the Buffalo flavored wings. The wings are lightly breaded and fried just the way I like them. A 6-piece wing order is a meal. Takes 20 minutes to cook the wings and they only take cash, so plan accordingly. Worth the trip if your looking for delicious wings.

So I go to the orthopedist across the street frequently and I have always eyed the store and thought that I need to go to this clam shack at some point. I went the other day and it was such a great disappointment. I only gave it two stars because the woman who works there was so kind and sweet. I ordered a cup of clear chowder and although they sold their clam cakes by half dozens and dozens she allowed me to just purchase three which was nice. They have a small interior dining room with just a few tables and they do have inside dining but by reservation and very limited. They have a couple of picnic tables by the street which is not a terrifically busy street so it's not too bad. And there is a park across the street. I'm trying to think of nice things to say because the food was really terrible. The chowder was crunchy including the potatoes. The celery was not cooked enough. And it had very little flavor.The clam cakes were like no clam cakes I've ever seen before. They looked more like very small funnel cakes with growths sticking out all over. They weren't round or near to round and they were gummy and again had no flavor. I was so looking forward to this as I have been dieting Android this was my cheat and this was really a terrible disappointment. I would never go back again.

When I first went there at the beginning of Covid we really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately it went downhill the last two times. Went in July, came home with cold food and chowder that tasted sour. I figured everyone makes mistakes so let’s we tried again tonight. Was originally told 35 -45 minutes. When we got there at 45 minutes we were told they were just waiting on clam cakes. So another 15 minutes that took. We ordered fish and chips, chowder and clam cakes. The clam cakes were not cooked all the way in the middle and not edible. The French fries are cold. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

Great little stop in the area. The young man that recommended what I should order was helpful. Prices were fair. Preference wise I prefer thicker creamier clam chowder, but this is Connecticut style, more on the stock soup base style. But very potatoey, could use some more clams though (my kiddo said too). Everything was good recommend it if you're driving through the area like we were.
