After 20 years of going to The Homestead, I’m sad to say I won’t be returning. The wait staff was wonderful, as always, but the kitchen missed the mark—again. The cook just couldn’t get the eggs right, no matter how simple the order. The home fries were solid, but the biscuits and gravy were a real disappointment. There was barely three tablespoons of gravy and meat on the whole plate, and it tasted like no love went into it at all. Two bad experiences in a row after decades of being a loyal customer is enough for me. I’m truly disappointed.

This was first time coming here and it was excellent!!! Service was a little slow BUT you could tell they were shortstaffed for a Friday night so I had absolutely no problem waiting. I got the Chicken Cordon Bleu with a baked potato, broccoli and clam chowder and it was fantastic!!! Will definitely be going back!

The inside is outdated, but I am assuming they’re intentionally leaving it like that for the “old style” feel. The reason for the 1 star is because the food was not good at all and I actually felt very sick afterwards. I asked for a medium well burger, I got a burnt hockey puck. My mom asked for medium rare, she got well done. My burger had a tiny squirt of the sauce that was supposed to be on it. My mom’s burger was missing the bacon that it was supposed to have. I’m pretty sure the meat was not fresh, since both my mom and myself felt sick later in the evening. We told the waitress about the fact that our burgers were over cooked and the my moms burger was actually missing the stuff that it was supposed to have on it and we weren’t offered any type of adjustment. My boyfriend’s chicken cordon blue was soggy and not good. Gravy that came with it was tasteless. The bar was busy with locals. Overall just not a great experience

Open seating so you can choose where to sit. Extensive menu, different options. The sliced roast beef was pretty tender but not very flavorful on the French dip. The horseradish sauce helped it along. The fries were OK but not my favorite. The dill pickle was awesome. The service was average and the knotty pine walls were nostalgic. There was handicapped parking and an easy entrance.
