My mom used to bring a box of these home for lunch on Saturdays after she went shopping for groceries. That was over 45 years ago. I moved out of the state 25 years ago & recently had the chance to be there at opening one Saturday morning thanks to a Facebook Marketplace buy. I haven't eaten one of these in over 40 years & NEVER had one fresh & still warm. It was a transcendent experience. Why didn't mom ever let me eat a fresh one? I inhaled 2 pork, 1 beef & one chicken. I went back in & got a dozen assorted to go. Thank you Hartley's for bringing me back to my mom who left us 35 years ago.

Lousy pies, I have been making French meat pies since I was a kid and my grand mere tought me well.
Hartley pies in Lincoln are awful and tasteless.

Hole in the wall… literally with its own old time charm and the best traditional English pork pies! Each pie brings back memories of 50 years ago when I had my first pie as a child. Juicy, peppery and a crust that can’t be duplicated. Best had warm right from the bakery though they don’t loose much after being frozen for a few months. The pork is my fav. The chicken is great too. The beef and potato is a close second. I have had the special seasonal salmon pie decades ago but it’s an acquired taste. Honestly this is a treat not to be missed.
