My third stop on the RI Food Fights trail brought me to OZ Tacos and Tequila. And after the day I had today at the office ...tequila was needed. It's a bustling Friday night, but I was able to find a seat at the bar. After a few moments I was brought a menu and I immediately ordered the house margarita. It came quickly, strong, tart and a little sweet. For the fight, you get your choice of two tacos, minus the lobster esquites. They have quite the creative combinations but I went with two Mojo Pork. You don't have to do two of the same but I chose to. As I waited for my food, I noted the decor. Oz is aptly named, it has a Wizard of Oz theme...if it was located in a Mexican cantina in the 60s. Andy Warhol style art, grass walls, an extensive tequila selection and Nancy Sinatra singing about her boots give a chaotic vibe in the mostly complementary way possible. I loved it. My tacos arrived and after quickly getting my pictures out of the way, I squeezed my lime and dug in. Holy moly was it good. Succulent roasted pork tenderly shredded with the tangy sweetness of the tamarind glaze juxtaposed against the heat from the cherry peppers delights the taste buds. Then the herbaceous cilantro cuts through to lift and brighten the taco to a truly delicious experience. I am so glad I got two of them because one wasn't enough. My only regret is I didn't realize one taco had four slices of cherry pepper and the other only had one. I would have distributed the peppers accordingly but the one slice was big enough that I could stretch it across the whole taco and enjoy it just as much as the first one. I was still hungry after the tacos so I ordered a side of the Mexican Street Corn (served off the cob) and a side of chips. Now, a lot of times when people say Mexican Street Corn off the cob it's just esquites and they use an Americanized term for marketability. In this case, this was like they made an elote and then cut it off the cob into the bowl. Salty, cojita cheesy and tangy with the extra lime, it hit the spot with some chips. They have the thicker style tortilla chips, great for holding fat bites of corn! You could see the clusters of kernels confirming freshly shelled corn. I ended up taking the rest home to enjoy another time. With my time here at an end I left full and happy I found another tasty spot to visit again.
Always good!

Walking into OZ Tacos & Tequila feels like stepping into a vibrant, whimsical wonderland. The atmosphere is colorful, fun, and full of energy, making it the perfect spot for anything from a casual night out to a lively celebration. Between the eclectic décor and the option to dine on the charming patio, the vibe is always welcoming and memorable.
The service here is just as impressive as the setting. From the moment you arrive, the staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your experience enjoyable. Everything moves smoothly from seating to food arriving at the table without ever feeling rushed. It’s the kind of hospitality that leaves a lasting impression.
And then there’s the food and drinks; the true stars of the show. OZ takes tacos to a whole new level with inventive flavors like bang bang shrimp, Baja fish, and pastrami, alongside must-try empanadas and guacamole. Every bite is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Pair that with one of their creative cocktails, (their margaritas are some of the best) and you’ve got an experience that’s as fun as it is delicious. Without question, this is a five-star gem that I can’t wait to return to next time I'm in the area.

Hi I have dined here multiple times and usually receive great food and service but last time here was really disappointing. Manager was extremely rude (white man with short hair), was definitely racist as was our waitress, so sad because I loved coming here but have totally lost respect for this establishment. They had us waiting 25+ minutes to order our food and it really wasn’t even that busy. Manager told us that it sucks to suck (essentially, not actually) and was just overall not accommodating or kind whatsoever. Wouldn’t spend my money here anymore.

Went there for Friday night's app, and drink special. Had thr chicken quesadilla app which was very good. Had a draft beer, so they can't screw that up.
What they did do however, was...
Upon getting my bill, I tipped at a >20% margin. Which is what i ordinarily do dependant upon service. Signed my tab for an even dollar amount. It was $60.00 with a generous tip.
Then the screen changes to $61.81. Which is the amount i saw this morning on my credit card. I signed for 60.00. It's illegal to change the total after the fact. Be attentive when paying here with a credit card.
Appearntly the cost of doing business here is something they want you to pay for. I won't be back. This type of blindsiding should be posted on the menu, or special's board. Nothing in this establishment makes this surcharge acceptable. Plus it reaks of dishonesty. If you go here. Pay with cash, or else they'll screw you.
You walk in and you’re received with a warm smile. Drinks are amazing and strong. Food is amazingly delicious. We had the chicken quesadilla that is honestly the best I’ve had in a long time, chips and salsa with queso it’s so good, and the carnívoro bowl with chicken al pastor which was also delicious. I recommend this place and I give it a 10/10. BTW I drove all the way from Southbridge, MA and I’m already planning on doing the drive again because I honestly fell in love with this place.

Outstanding tacos! Two visits, both happened to take advantage of Taco Tuesday - buy a drink, get $3 tacos. Their tacos are great - I really enjoyed the cauliflower ginger taco, the hot honey chicken taco, the gyro taco, and the watermelon agua fresca on my most recent trip. Fast, friendly service.

Tried the Bang Bang Shrimp soft tacos and they were amazing. Soft, flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. The Cheeseburger Empanadas were really tasty too. They come is two pieces.

I had the seasonal lobster taco and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Ever. Service was great. Wish they had a spicy margarita, but the house margarita was adequate. Chips and salsa were good. My husband had the carne asada taco platter and it was very good. Love the theme of the restaurant, too! Wish they’d open a place in Westerly, RI!
I appreciated the creative spin with the tacos. And the classics were also good. Our server was very nice, but the energy in the building was a little off

Victoria was amazing! The food was delivered so quickly and the quality was immaculate. Every time we had something that needed cleared she was so quick to make that happen. Drinks were swift as well. Will definitely be bringing people back with us next time!
Genuinely one of the best stops I’ve had. Victoria was an awesome server and the food came out so fast! It was some of the best food I’ve had since moving to RI 4 years ago. Def will recommend to friends and family!!
