Our family has been Walt's customers since they opened their doors. Never had a bad experience. Ever. Today was no different. Greeted upon entry. Order promptly taken. A few moments later, a steaming hot meal was brought out to us. I do miss the days, pre-covid, when the vinegar & bbq were out in the lobby. But, we received plenty from behind the counter. The building is ancient but they have updated the lobby in recent years. It was spotlessly clean today. The counter ladies were very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious.

Went to Walt's Roast Beef in North kingstown...and they were closed on Sundays....no mention of it being closed online.....TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT to be closed on sundays and not notify the public

I wish that this would be a nationwide chain. They have great roast beef, as well as fish n chips (on Wednesday and Friday). Outside that it’s a homey fast food place.

I love going here the nice portion of roast beef with a fresh roll is outstanding and the fries are hot. with a nice cold drink it makes a great lunchtime treat for me. the place is nice and clean and you have a few toppings to put on it and they have horseradish as well.they do have deserts but I opt for the larger sandwich instead. a very nice place for lunch.

This restaurant and its several chain companions is a Rhode Island tradition. Its classic roast beef sandwich and fries is a favorite of several generations of Rhode Islanders. It also features several other wonderful sandwiches and a variety of beverages for a simple, yet fulfilling meal. Go and experience what locals have been enjoying for decades.

Walt's used to be a favorite of ours but our last few experiences have been increasingly disappointing, especially the most recent, where the staff not only could not work the credit card machine, but were rude and customer-blaming in the process. After placing our order and attempting to pay by credit card, we were told the card didn't work. A second card from a different family member was produced, and we were told that card didn't work either. Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility or trying to find a solution, the cashier dismissed us with the comment that the cards must not be activated, and that was that. So, we left and took our hungry toddlers and our business to Wendy's, where the supposedly not-working credit card worked. For the last year or more the roast beef has been overdone and dry, the fries dried out and the onion rings soggy. We kept going back because Walt's has been a kind of family tradition for a long time. The incredibly poor customer service this last visit has made up our minds, though. After being customers for over 40 years, we will not be returning.

I usually enjoy coming here to have my usual roast beef sandwich but on fridays visit at 3pm, i wanted to have the fish and chips. I asked the girl at the counter and she told me that i could not have it until 4pm, so i ordered my usual rb sandwich. Two minutes later a regular customer to the restaurant came in and asked for the fish and chips and the girl replied, do you want your tea as well. I had already received my sandwich and was staying to eat it when i saw the two cooks put the food on the counter. I approached the counter and pointed to the fish and chips as the customer approached the counter and asked the girl why couldn't i have the fish and chips when i asked two minutes ago? I got a blank and red faced girl that put her head down while the two cooks at the counter dropped their jaws and looked at me. I got zero response from none of the associates. After a few seconds of nothing and without causing a scene, i felt disgusted and left the restaurant feeling really disappointed! YOU ALL SUCK FOR LETTING THAT HAPPEN!!

On the advice of a friend, while visiting the area, we stopped by this location of the "Walt's Roast Beef" franchise. First impressions can mean so much, and this place was no exception. Meaning, if you took in the empty parking lot, you might figure that this restaurant was swirling around the drain, ready to sink.....but you'd be wrong! Walking inside, we were greeted by the employees as though we were regulars, and quickly placed our orders. Minutes later, with food in hand, the 5 of us sat down to a wonderful meal, that I would gladly put up against any national restaurant chain! And while the Spicy Pepperjack roast beef sandwish I had wasn't quite as spicy hot as I'm used to, living in Texas, I'm sure it would be more than enough "heat" to toast someone's tastebuds, who wasn't quite used to that spiciness!

If you haven't had a Walt's Roast Beef Sandwich, you have missed out. It is right up there with RI's NY style Weiners as a RI not to be missed cheap eats. The Roast Beef is Walt's own special and will melt in your mouth.

Walts has been around forever. They serve made to order roast beef sandwiches on fresh rolls. The roast beef is carved just for you. I like to have horseradish on mine. The fries are cooked to order and not hanging around under a heat lamp. Staff is friendly and a favorite with locals.

a very good roast beef sandwich is gotten here. good fries and I always get the large sandwich but plain,no veggies on it. I ask and get horse radish and I add my own barb.sauce from the counter. get a cold soft drink and you are all set. good seating, parking in front and sides, also have other items for a good sandwich,I also like the pastrami which they load up and I get the large on this also. was suprised at how good this one was. they are nice, polite and have new ownership which I must say has improved the chain quite a bit.
