Public House by WeRoast Coffee is easily one of the best breakfast and coffee destinations in Lincoln, and honestly one of the most thoughtfully executed cafes in the area.
From the moment you step inside, it is clear that this place was designed with intention. The space is open, bright, and inviting, with a clean modern aesthetic that still feels warm and comfortable. Natural light fills the room, the layout is spacious without feeling empty, and the seating options make it easy to settle in whether you are there solo, with family, or meeting friends. It is the kind of environment where you can enjoy a quiet morning, have a conversation without shouting, or stay longer than planned without feeling rushed.
The atmosphere truly sets this place apart. It feels like a community space rather than just a coffee shop. Seeing board games and chess boards available adds a unique, welcoming touch that encourages people to slow down, engage, and enjoy the moment. It is refreshing to find a cafe that feels calm and intentional rather than rushed or overly commercial.
The breakfast food is excellent across the board. Everything tastes fresh, well prepared, and balanced. Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the flavors are clean and satisfying. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and that care is put into every plate. This is not fast, throwaway breakfast food. It is the kind of breakfast that actually feels worth going out for.
The coffee deserves special recognition. It is smooth, rich, and expertly brewed, without bitterness or inconsistency. Whether you prefer a classic drip coffee or something more crafted, the quality is immediately noticeable. This is coffee made by people who clearly understand and respect the craft. Every cup tastes intentional, not rushed.
Service here is another major highlight. The staff is genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Interactions feel authentic, not forced or scripted. Questions are answered thoughtfully, orders are handled efficiently, and there is a clear sense that the team takes pride in both the product and the experience they are providing. It creates a relaxed, positive environment that makes you want to return.
What really stands out is how well everything comes together. Great food, excellent coffee, a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, and strong service all working in harmony. Nothing feels overlooked. Nothing feels accidental. It is rare to find a place that consistently delivers across every category, but this cafe does exactly that.
Public House by WeRoast Coffee has quickly become a go to spot in Lincoln for breakfast and coffee. It is perfect for locals, families, professionals looking for a place to work or meet, and anyone who simply appreciates quality. Highly recommended, and absolutely deserving of five stars.

Public House is a cozy spot to grab something to drink, a quick bite, and catch up with a friend or do some work. We really enjoyed the vibe inside and the coffees we ordered. We came in the evening so it wasn’t too busy but this would be the perfect spot to get some work done. They have a bar and board games in the back if you’re looking for something a little extra.

Public House is hands-down my favorite coffee shop in the area (and there's some decently stiff competition). What sets them apart is the quality of their food—so much of it is made in-house including the pastries which are *phenomenal*, the sandwiches are absolutely delicious (highly recommend the Boulevard BEC), and of course the drinks are yummy. Service is consistently great—the staff is knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly. The space is unique, clean, and comfortable—they've really achieved their goal of creating a community gathering space (not to mention, the drive-thru is super convenient if you're tight on time). Finally, prices are reasonable and fair considering all of the above!

I love this place, but resent being asked to tip staff who simply shout my name from the kitchen inviting me to pickup my own coffee. Even if they brought it to the table, I need to pay them 15 to 20 percent for one trip to the table?
Aren’t you paying your staff a living wage?

Coffee is average and the space is basic, very filterworld-lifeless with its minimalist decor. The echo/acoustics are almost deafening.

Had a delicious blueberry muffin and pour over coffee. The atmosphere is comfy and stylish!

I got an avocado toast. It was one slice for $10 and it was the smallest piece of toast I’ve ever seen. Would not get it again

I’ve been driving past this place for a while and finally decided to give it a try — now I’m obsessed! The staff is awesome, and everything I’ve tried from the menu has been amazing. I’m so used to chain coffee shops messing up my order or it tasting different every time, but not here! It’s always spot-on and consistent. Even when they’re busy, nothing feels rushed — you can tell they care about what they’re making. Definitely ditch the chains and check this place out!

Public House holds a very special place in my heart. I’ve been enjoying their expertly crafted drinks and food since they first debuted next to Lincoln Creamery as “WeRoast” and i’ve been obsessed ever since. Their kind, energetic staff is truly the centerpiece of this operation and i cannot say enough how much they rock! And from the quality of their drinks to the variety in their baked goods, you truly can’t go wrong. a lot of cafes will choose to focus their energy on one drink in particular or one baked good but Public House exceeds in all categories, making the HELL out of my day!! My personal go-tos for this lovely fall season are a pumpkin dirty chai and a the boulevard bec.. and because i’m a creature of habit, the pumpkin chai scone as well ;)!

I came here last night for the first time and I think it's going to become my primary spot. First of all, a sit down cafe that you can work in and open till 10pm on a weekday??? The space is well lit too, allowing me to do some embroidery without straining my eyes. I have been looking for a place like this for months! On top of that, lots of baked goods. I got a slice of Focaccia with sundried tomatoes with a lavender infused iced tea- terrific. It seems like they have cocktails too, and the service was great and really friendly. Teddy took my order- super professional and accommodating. I am pretty impressed
