The absolute only disadvantage to dining at The Bistro is the noise level.... Other than that, it is excellent every time!
Plum Point is one of my favorite restaurants in the state but unfortunately I had my first poor experience last night. I made a 630pm reservation over a month ago for a friends birthday. We did not get sat at our table until 730pm. The hostess was a bit rude and did not apologize for the wait. Our server was great and food amazing as always. We were accommodated by the manager, however waiting an hour for a reservation booked a month in advance is just unacceptable.
Have always enjoyed every visit to Plum Point and every meal! I had my regular mussels and fries, my aunt had chicken cutlets on a salad and husband and other aunt shared the 18oz Steak Board! The staff was wonderful and the ambiance cozy. Can't wait until next time :)
Came for a long overdue girls night out on a cold, rainy night. We were out on the covered patio and we're nice and toasty! The martinis and tuna tartare were fabulous. Two of us had the black pepper spaghetti with clams and shrimp-- melt in your mouth delicious! Our waitress, Madison, was the sweetest and hope we get her again next time we go!
Our first option for a table for 6 was on an outdoor patio near a bar and cold! We moved inside after we waited for a bit. No server came again for a bit ! And basically hardly saw her through out the dinner ! The salad came with the entrees! Complete overpriced! And a bad experience especially as we were celebrating an engagement!
Overall it was a nice evening. However some of food was less than outstanding. The Octopus appetizer was thin and overcooked The Cornish hen was tasty however it was light on stuffing and heavy on Potato and Green beans The Sword presentation was different it was not a sword fish cut but was a tall cubed presentation which was not moist Service was very good and attentive Soda drinkers beware -No free refills and $3.00 a glass
Had a 6:30pm reservation, wasn't seated until roughly 7:15pm. What was frustrating was seeing larger parties (we were party of 4) arrive well after us, but be seated before us.
After waiting 45 minutes for our reservation there was no apology for the wait.
After being seated it took 10-15 minutes to get water, and another 10-15 minutes to get our cocktails. Again, we saw tables seated after us (same party size) receive service before us. This increased frustrations.
Once we ordered the food everything game out quick, and everything was really tasty!
The staff kept saying the kitchen was backed up, and that's what was holding up our table; but they were pumping out takeout orders left and right! Maybe during busy hours it would behoove the kitchen to stop takeout orders and focus on the diners that are there?
All in all, I wish we had a better experience because it's unlikely we'll be back.

Plum Pt. consistently serves the best pasta dishes!! The pastas are distinctive, flavorful, and freshly made by Rafael and we are always delighted with our choices. The cod dish is excellent, if pasta is not to your choosing. Reservations are recommended since it is such a popular place to dine. The drinks are wonderful and fairly priced, too. All of the servers are excellent and Lucas was efficient, friendly, and relaxed. We were so lucky to have this neighborhood gem in RI.
We always have a pleasant experience and an excellent meal at Plum Point...always look forward to going back.

Way too noisy in the restaurant. It is impossible to carry on a conversation at a normal level.. While the food is delicious and the service very good, I won't be going back.
The service was excellent. We were lucky to have one lady that was really good at what she did. I ordered a piece of chicken with green beans and get charged $20 for some of the stuffed chicken meal which I was gonna disappointed other than that the food was good But I don't know just a bit pricey for me

If you’re looking for a spot where the focus is on quality over speed, this is the place. Don’t come here expecting a quick in-and-out meal—come ready to relax and enjoy the experience. The service is attentive and genuinely welcoming, never rushed, which matches the cozy, charming atmosphere perfectly. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and worth the wait, making it clear that care goes into both the food and the overall experience.
