This is a nice small restaurant in North Kingstown
I would definitely recommend having reservations. Everyone here was really friendly and customer service was great including the bussers! The bread and butter they provided were good and the bread was nice and warm! We had their calamari which was really good and crispy with a slight kick to it. I really enjoyed the cherry pepper sauce and pickled onions with it! My husband and I got their handmade pastas. The fettuccine was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked! I got the mafaldine which was much lighter and I really enjoyed their handmade noodles but probably could have used more cheese and/or more sauce. Overall, we were very happy with their homemade pastas and the perfect chewiness to them. My husband loved their take on a dirty martini called some like it hot and enjoyed the blue cheese stuffed olives. It was a delicious drink! I had the harbor sunset drink which was okay and light. My only complaint is the restaurant gets very loud inside so you feel like you're yelling to each other. Also, when we arrived and checked in the hostess mentioned she was waiting for the people to finish up (we were also 20 min late) and it seemed like other people were waiting for their table too but soon got seated on a Friday night. As we shifted towards the bar area to order a drink, the hostess mentioned to us that our table was free but she was waiting for the other table nearby to leave so we could have a little more space. The tables weren't super close together so we said it's okay we can sit down. While sitting there, it might been another 30-40 min until the other party left, so I'm glad we opted to sit down at our table because the closeness was really no big deal. I came here back when this place opened and haven't been back in a very long time. I'm not sure why it's taking so long to return but I will certainly be visiting again more often this year even if it's ordering take out. Overall, the food is absolutely delicious and service is great! We will be coming back more often! Thanks again for a great experience!

Parking: There’s a park and ride next door if their parking lot is too crowded.

I had a reservation and upon arrival the young inexperienced staff refused to honor it despite the fact I had the documented reservation. Understandably mistakes happen but instead of correcting this error they simply pushed my reservation 2 hours out. The staff was rude and dismissive. There was no experienced management on staff to properlyto deal with the situation. if I could give less than 1 star I would.

Made reservation. When we walked in we were told everything was behind and we wouldn’t be seated for a while. Talked into sitting outside. Super cold and unbelievably noisy. Waiter came to table after 10 min and ordered drinks (after he brought drink special menu). Bus boy brought bread where we had to ask for silverware and napkins. Waiter was very well versed in sharing the menu and specials. Placed order which arrived rather quickly. Before we had taken a bite the food runner asked if it was good ???? Food was exactly as shared by the waiter. Unfortunately when he came back my husband asked for a box as did I and requested another drink to which he obviously didn’t hear because he came back with check. Unfortunately we won’t be back and will not recommend.

I’m shocked to see I hadn’t already left a review for Plum Pt bistro. Maybe I did elsewhere. Anyway, I am lucky enough to live nearby this wonderful spot, and it is probably my top restaurant to recommend or take my visiting guests. Or to literally take myself to, solo, and enjoy sitting at the bar happily.
Most important to know to add to everything else you’ll read:
-make reservations if you can
-the only reason I gave 4/5 for atmosphere is bc it can be really loud, as though there should be some kind of sound or noise insulation, idk how that works- but this is the place that you’ll prob be leaning across the table to speak to the person you’re with. Sound optics? Idk but I will happily speak a little loudly or lean in, when it’s busy which is every time I’ve ever been here. 👍
-during the warm months, sitting outside is really nice. Casual vibe like after the beach but popped by home just long enough to throw on something more reasonable. Dress code wise.
-I love everything I’ve eaten here, but my tops are: mussels w fries, wedge salad, and the fettuccine with the oyster mushrooms. It’s so good. All the specials, anytime. I had a wonderful time whether solo, (oh the plum Negroni is 👌🏼) with a girl friend on the patio this summer, or with my husband inside for a whole meal.
I don’t remember everyone’s names but service has always been pretty great. Today, I had an issue and Sarah was the manager who helped me. She was great and I didn’t feel awkward saying it bc she was really nice and accommodating.
The food is seriously so good, worth the higher (but usual with anything fine-dining, not extra) prices bc they obviously know what they’re doing, and you can taste the difference with the mindfully selected ingredients.

Went to Plum Point Bistro on a Friday nite with some elderly out of town guests. Our server was excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good but pricey. Unfortunately the noise level in the building was just way too over the top. Won't be back.

Dined at our favorite restaurant for our anniversary and it never disappoints. The smelts are the best and the mussels zuppa special was so flavorful. Bistro steak with Delmonico potatoes was cooked to perfection. The chicken parmigiana with pasta was large enough to share and so good. For dessert we had the tiramisu and passion fruit brûlée which were equally delicious. Thank you for making our evening so special.

Always a great choice and tonight was no exception. Steak a la mama was amazing as was the salad special. Service by Kevin was exceptional, too. Only complaint which comes with the territory is the noise level which at times can be bothersome when trying to carry on a conversation. Still well worth the visit!

I have eaten at Plum Point many times and never have had a bad meal. Everything on the menu is delicious and well presented. Only one complaint...it is VERY noisy. A table larger than four will never all be able to hear each other. Go early or go late if you want to catch up with the people in your group

Seems to be a local favorite casual dining spot. Situated in a random area next to nothing but gas station, upon our arrival at the parking lot, run down patio comes into view first. We were tempted to turn around and leave, but glad we stayed. Dining room inside was clean and comfortable. Surprisingly good food with interesting menu items.
Standouts were:
Plum point chowder $9- refreshing to find this delightful chowder after having clam chowder all summer long
Escargot in garlic parsley butter and pistachios $14- could smell fragrant garlic butter from miles away
point judith calamari $17 -was so tender and came with pickled red onion. We liked the pickle so much we asked if we could have some more.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner until after we left and saw $1 was added to our bill for that extra pickle without informing us. Wow.. what a petty service to charge for extra condiment.. as another reviewer mentioned they seem to be nickle and diming for petty things without informing diners..

We been coming here since we moved to NK 10+ years ago. Between service, drinks, food everything here is top notch. One of our go to’s is the whole fish platter that we split between our family. Last time we visited they were doing a whole fried flounder with mixed greens, rice and green beans and it was to die for. Easily one of the best restaurants in town!
