This is a wonderful local neighborhood restaurant. The food is well prepared and the owner is very attentive. There is a nice cozy feel to the place and it's located in a beautiful seaport village. The menu may be somewhat limited compared to the big places but what they do offer is done well. If you want a nice quite romantic evening out Tate's is the place to go. You won't be disappointed.Dr. D.

My family typically gets take out and the food is always amazing! I have dined in and the service was nice and accommodating.

The owner noticed me outside taking photos next door and invited me into her establishment also. Very accommodating and generous with her space and access. I have actually eaten at this establishment in years gone by and found it delicious, but the details elude me. 5 stars on friendliness and service from all I encountered.

This was the worst customer service experience I have ever endured at a restaurant. The woman the greeted us was toxic with too much attitude and very condensing; I would have walked out but my partner wanted to see the menu. We sat at the bar and the waitress that helped us barely wiped down the bar and then folded black cloth napkins into a triangle and used them as a place setting, which I find to be quite bizarre. We waited quite a while just to get our drink orders in and much longer for them to take our food order. As for the food the bread was meager at best but I do have to say the appetizers that my partner and I shared, which were the artichokes and the calamari, were delightful. Would I recommend this restaurant, not in the least.

The owner lost my debit card acted like it was no big deal! It was a nightmare for me. I was very kind I never got upset, I was fuming after she never called me back I had to call her to see if she found it.

We were excited when we peeked in and saw this cozy space with stools lined up while looking down toward the restaurant. I have been to Wickford before and fell in love with it and was excited to share the weekend there with my fiancée. The owner ( I believe the older woman was) asked us if we wanted food and I said we would like to order appetizers. We ordered our drinks. She never came back to ask us to ask us what we would like to order. The couple next to us (apparently regulars) were given bread, napkins, and were attended to. She kept walking right by us. We finished drinks and wanted another round. I had to ask a young lady, Emma,if we could get another round. After that, the owner came to us and gave us drinks. I then asked Emma if we could order crab cakes. We waited 30 minutes. I ask Emma again, are the crab cakes coming out? She went into the kitchen and put them in front of us. Lukewarm, not good at all. No communication from the owner who was also serving. Only to her regulars. Chatting, smiling, tending to them. Finally she asked my fiancée, “another beer?” She was rude and obviously didn’t care about attending to you unless you were a regular. It was not very busy. I will never step foot in her establishment again. I’ll go back to Wickford on the Water!!! She can keep her rudeness to herself. Thanks for ruining our evening.

Great food at atmosphere, After 3 years the quality of food has not changed. The idiot in the white house and his inflation has obviously effected the quantity.. Less for more I'm sorry to say. I hope they survive. Rhode Island needs to stop voting left. It's no longer democrats, it's liberalism. There is a difference.

Just had one of the best meals I have ever had out...ever. Great little table by the window, great service, wonderful focaccia, a big pour of wine, best short ribs I have ever had, and wonderful house made pasta with sausage and house made macaroni. We are lucky to have this place here!

I'm sorry but, it just wasn't good. Actually, it was inedible. We were a party of 12 and had two servers, which was adequate. First up, a screw top mini bottle of Prosecco (classless) and a dirty champagne glass with lipstick on it. I ordered a chicken Parmesan dinner from a limited menu. It was the equivalent of a bad kid's meal. Heavily breaded chicken finger looking things that were clearly from frozen with macaroni covered with tomato sauce. One bite and I pushed it away. It's been awhile since I had anything this bad. Seriously.

The best place ever. We always find a reason to come here. The Veal Milanese and Short Ribs are a must. As is the calamari. Just be caregul with the drinks- Karen is very generous so we usually stumble home after just one. Make your plans to come try this Wickford legend.
