This was our first time trying tavern by the sea and we will most definitely be back! The workers are extremely attentive and pleasant, the food is phenomenal and the view on the deck is unbeatable!

Our family was visiting from NYC and California for the Wickford Art Festival so we decided to get a bite after Saturdays show. Food was great and service by Andrew was outstanding. Definitely will be back!

First and foremost, our server John was 5 star! He was professional, attentive but not intrusive, good-natured and we were served quite well. Then the food. Meh does not describe our dinners. The swordfish special at $32 was clearly not fresh and overcooked to boot. The Asian sauce was nearly non-existent and we could have used more on the dry fish. The potatoes and broccoli were ok. The fish and chips $20 were just alright except the chips were cold and the cole slaw certainly not house made. Not good. Dessert was the lava (?) chocolate chip cookie with ice cream was not even warm. All for $180 with wine. Really disappointed that I brought a friend from out of town there for good seafood. However, the ambience and noise level were good.

This restaurant continues to earn 3 stars for us. Love the Wickford location, and waterfront dining. The food, as always, ranges. The Ahi tuns appetizer was fantastic, the lobster & scallop combo was more pasta than anything else, and essentially disappointing. Mixed drinks were good. Second year in a row we've not had great service. The table behind us (seated after us) had multiple visits from their server while we were craning our necks to see where ours was, and their orders arrived well before ours. I wish they'd update the menu. It's a little tired. A nice waterfront evening out, but I wouldn't go expecting a fabulous meal.

Party of 6....all meals were delicious except for two of us who ordered the grilled swordfish with truffle seasoning/ sauce. Fish was very overcooked and dry. The sauce was a balsamic glaze without even a hint of truffle. We love this local spot and it won't keep us from going back, just disappointed. Will stick with the parm risotto and scallops next time!

We have been to Tavern By The Sea Numerous times and love the location on the water, the food and the service. Unfortunately I think they were having a problem in the kitchen and the food was VERY slow to come out. The servers were all trying their hardest, I saw several of the literally running to take care of customers. Our server, Andrew, was very sweet. While I don't mind a leisurely dinner, it should not take an hour for meals to come out!
Food took a long to get delivered. Waiter said kitchen was backed up, but when food came it was cool. Didn't want to send back and wait another 1/2 hour. This place is generally good, this time was a disappointment.

Waitress never asked how everything was so we never got to give feedback or let them know. 1 out if the 5 really enjoyed the meal, not good odds overall. I had guests in town and was really disappointed; with all the local options, I should have chosen somewhere else. They even cleared a drink before we drank it. Oh well, we had fun in wickford anyway.

Had a lovely dinner on the deck watching the tide change and enjoying a delicious meal. Service was great as well. Seeing the look on my elderly dad's face after copying my drink order of the habanero margarita without knowing what a habanero was was also a highlight 😆

We come here frequently due to the food, the service, the surroundings. Such a pleasant place no matter if we are inside or outside. Nothing better than a sunny day at Tavern by the Sea. We will be going again with friends and family very soon. Best place in North Kingstown RI!
