I had eggs , home fries , bacon , white toast and coffee ... I've been going to various diners for this same meal my entire life . Cal's is definitely in the upper echelon of breakfast diners . So the food was great as was the service . Two very minor complaints .. plastic silverware is not great to eat with nor is it great for the environment . I also didn't really like the radio on so loud . I like to read the news with breakfast and the radio was distracting . Besides that 5/5 for Cal's Corner !

Walked out once we saw food served on paper plates with plastic forks and paper coffee cups. Just weird.

Small mom & pop neighborhood breakfast spot right on Providence/North Providence line. Pancakes and home fries are really good, good cup of coffee. Smith St can be busy & parking can be difficult; but definitely worth the stop when you JUST don't want to cook breakfast for yourself...(we've all been there).

Platic cutlery? Food served on a paper plate? Paper cups for a drink? Sounds like a family funtion doesn't it. The only coffee mug I saw was above the "cooks" head up on a shelf. I think the home fries were frozen. Very boring and just about warmed up. They don't even give you a free glass of water. It's a buck fifty for a bottle. Burnt toast seems to be thier specialty? Every peice I saw left the kitchen was burnt . They did overbutter it so the middle was edible. The omelet i got had canned mushrooms in it. My kid got a pancake so it wasn't a disappointment to him. Although no butter and just one of those to go syrup containers. How this restaurant gets such good reviews is beyond me. I'm for totally supporting local restaurants. In fact I refuse to go to a chain restaurant. This place is worse than the grill down the road.

So the thing is this used to be a go to. Ham is fresh made and makes for an amazing omelette. The husband cooking is amazing. The issue is that they have, in my opinion, jumped on the covid bandwagon and never got off. Plastic bagged forks spoons etc. paper plates. Ask for water- they bring you a Poland spring- you will be charged for- and paper coffee cups. If it doesn't matter to you the food is good but for me way too little effort with way too much waste for market prices. I'm sad.

Well I've been waiting to try this place and it was a weird beginning. They say they close at 12 and I walked in at 11. One waitress said sit the other yelled that they are closed!! Not sure what was going on but I had to sit cause really wanted to try. Everything is served on paper with plastic silverware. Kind of wasteful!! The interior is old but clean. This is like the neighborhood breakfast spot which you have to be ok with trying to fit in.

Don't even know where to start, food was disgusting!!! Grill must have been filthy because my scrambled eggs were overcooked and tasteless as the home fries were. Waitress didn't even come back to our table when she noticed I didn't eat anything! Another waitress came over and took it off the bill! Cheap paper plates and plastic silverware!!! Welfare breakfast with high prices, probably got food from a food pantry, don't waste your money!!!
I ordered take out for my family. The food was really good. I lived in this area for almost 8 years and just now discovering this spot. We'll be back!

They serve you coffee in a paper cup, and give you plastic forks and spoons. I ordered a coffee had 2 sips paid and left. There were customers there, I'm guessing regulars...they were load and annoying, it's very small and didn't seem very clean.
