This place wasn't even able to serve my partner plain rice noodles as she is a vegan and just wanted simple, plain rice noodles. They wanted to charge her $14 for pad thai noodles with none of the rest of the mix ins or sauce. Food was fine, server was fine, restaurant was dead on a Saturday and no music was even playing. Made my partner very upset she couldn't get a simple order of rice noodles. What do you mean you cant serve us that? Weird and will not return.

Sushi is always decent but the service is endlessly disappointing. Not the slightest bit of friendliness, no would you like dessert, just the check tossed at you and about 4 words in between. I’ll just keep ordering takeout but I’ll probably come back because it’s close and ok.

The service was exceptional. The waiter knew exactly when we needed to order, when to refill our drinks, and get our check. He always made sure to keep our waters topped up, and frequently (maybe one more time than needed) checked up on us.
The appetizer of crab rangoon was delicious with a good sauce to compliment. My only complaint in the rice that came with the teriyaki hot plate was not quite the sticky rice I was expecting. I thought it would stick to the chicken a little better but seemed to fall off with ease.
The atmosphere was fine, but seemed to not have a specific direction.
Overall a good sit-down restaurant to check out. Affordable for the food given.
Parking: Yama Fuji is situated in front of a massive parking lot that is used for a multitude of stores and restaurants in the plaza. You will not have a hard time getting a spot to park.

Restaurantji Recommends
Decided to go to this place for sushi/ hibachi tonight because I was in town visiting family, and we needed a nice sit-down dinner. To begin with, I needed reservations for an empty restaurant, which just seemed absurd. Secondly, the waiter there was extremely pushy when getting our orders, which was a whole other challenge considering how they "were out of steak, chocolate milk, sprite, root beer, sparkling water, and apparently cherries (needed for a "Sherley Temple"). Third, when asked about their children's hibachi meal, the same waiter rudely assumed our child's age, thinking she was older than 12 years old. Finally, I had asked for a military discount when paying our bill and was refused, not to mention I was lied to about the waiter "asking the manager over the phone" (whom was sitting in the front of the house). The same manager was talked to, which resulted in her informing us that they were only out of steak until tomorrow. The manager did give us a 7% discount ($10 off the bill), which I found to be disrespectful considering their staff had lied to us the ENTIRE time. Please work on your customer service skills to improve future guest experiences. - Unhappy customer who would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Sushi serving was small however…it was still worth it. The sushi melted like butter in your mouth; it was so

Iwent to Yama Fuji on a Thursday night with my family, my daughter had her boy visit from North Carolina and thought it would be a nice night out having a hibachi. Out of the five of us, three of us had steak and chicken. Needless to say my daughters boyfriend noticed that the steak smelled really bad. We all took a closer smell to it and it smelled like a dead body.
lam not one to complain, or to leave the restaurant without paying. I asked the receptionist to send the manager over, he came, I handed him a piece of the steak to smell, he smelled it, shook his head and said he was going into the kitchen to talk to the chef.
He never came back out. The waitress just decided to hand us. A bill and a bunch of to go boxes. I told her I was not going to pay for anything. Seeing we did not eat our meal. The manager never came back to our table to apologize. We walked outside to leave and the waitress chased us outside to pay for a drink that we did not even drink, saying it would come out of her pocket. I went back in, asked for the manager to come outside so we could discuss it discreetly. He nodded his head. I waited 15 minutes.
He never came out so I left. The smell from the steak was so bad that just from picking it up with your fingers my fingers smelled. Please stay away from this restaurant. There are plenty of other good hibachi restaurants in North Providence, and elsewhere. I am so disappointed.
