Not only is the food outstanding but so is the staff!!!! Melinda is a jewel if you're not sure what to have ask her she won't stir you wrong I go quite often and have never been disappointed. The pastrami melts in your mouth and the chicken soup is great. Ask for Melinda and you will be well taken care of!

Two friends from out-of-town and I had lunch there today; one of those friends was very familiar with deli-style restaurants, and loved Maven’s - we all did! The food was excellent, and the service, the same. Cordelia was our server, and she was friendly, kind, thoughtful (even catering to one friend’s love of dill pickles) and efficient. I ordered a Reuben online. It was ready when I got there. It was the worst Ruben I have eaten The corned beef was fatty and tough. I tried to go on opening day and waited in line for 40 minutes only to find out they were not doing takeout so I have been salivating for the last couple of months and finally today I was in the neighborhood from South County so I ordered. I was so disappointed

I really didn't want to write a bad review, but I feel compelled to report my experience. Please know before writing this I spoke with the manager. She took my info.and asked if I would speak with the owner, but he never called me. This happened 5 days ago. So here, I am. The place is gorgeous, the staff is kind and friendly, for me, some of the food is good, but most of it is not. The food is not like the kosher/kosher-style delis I grew up eating. Saturday at 10:45 there were four of us, Two of us wanted breakfast and two wanted simple sandwiches. The waitress immediately commented, "let's see if we can get all of this out at the same time." We received 75% of the breakfast order 25 min. after ordering, we waited for the rest of our food to arrive so we could eat together. We saw a lot of sandwich orders and latke orders pass by (that's what we were waiting for). We never received our water ( we asked 3 times). We were so mad after waiting another 25 min. we did something we have never done, we walked out. This isn't the first issue we have had with the restaurant, but we let the others go. When they opened we were so excited and wanted them to succeed that's why we overlooked the other issues, but not anymore. I hope they get their act together....... Go if you want, but know there could be problems. The place is not managed or run well.

Third time at this deli. Melinda greeted us as we entered and brought us to a large comfortable table towards the back of the restaurant. She is a fantastic server who is not only personable and friendly but she also suggested latkes for the table to get started. (Great choice for our party of a variety of picky and not eaters). While it was lunch time, 1/2 of our party ordered from the all day breakfast menu while the others chose sandwiches. Food was great— plenty of food but not so much you thought you were wasting it like at some NYC delis. We were attended to and checked on but not rushed. Would not hesitate to recommend…. If you are lucky, you will get Melinda. If you are wise, you will get the blintzes.

Had a wonderful breakfast at Maven's. The bagels are authentic and the best in the area. The pancakes were also wonderful and all of our meals were large portion sizes.
