This place go down a lot! Cole years ago we got good experience and we come back for family celebration. Muggy vine glasses, dirty windows, overpriced food. And tips18% included in the bill!!! Even charging 18% tips for food to go! Shame.
My son joined my wife and I last night for what turned out to be a nice dinner. Service was exceptional. The ambiance was very nice. Food was very good. Wasn’t very busy for a Saturday night but not unexpected for a higher end place well away from any major city. I was a little surprised to see blue jeans and pull over hoodies meeting the dress code but money talks I guess.
We started with the bacon appetizer and a shrimp cocktail. For dinners, two of us had the bone in ribeye and one the short rib. We skipped desert as we were all full.
As a steakhouse, it’s average. As a nice restaurant with very good food, it was very good. I’m sure we will visit again.
2nd time coming here, about a 45 minute drive for me but I’ll definitely be back! Meals have been very tasty, service has been pretty good. Atmosphere is good. I just like this place all around. I recommend trying especially now that they are open to the public. The thanksgiving buffet was delightful! Plenty of delicious food! Everything I’ve tasted has been delicious so far 😋
Very nice special occasion restaurant located on the beautiful grounds of The Preserve. The restaurant vibe was good, the service and food much better. The marrow and bread service impressive and delicious. The bacon appetizer unique and equally delicious probably won the appetizer round. My shrimp and scallop risotto was mixed in that scallops were excellent, shrimp very good and risotto just average. My wife and son had filets and they loved them (I stole a bite and agreed, perfect cut, perfectly prepared and loved the sauce). Chocolate mousse cake was fantastic, bread pudding was good. We will return, probably on a cold winter night to enjoy the fireplace.
When we went it was empty it was us and another couple. The food was ok, I have had gone to better steak houses. There was one guy he might be security he was standing next to the host he kept staring at us because we was POC, even when we left the establishment he watched our every move. Check your staff.
We just celebrated our 24th Anniversary at your beautiful restaurant. The manager went above and beyond to make our evening special. Thank you very much. Bethany ♡
Phenomenal service—cheers Ben. Great food. Was a little bummed that the kitchen swapped the temps on our respective steaks, but we resolved on our own by sharing amongst us. I'd return again to try one of the meals as opposed to the ala carte options.
Our waitress was in top of her job! ?? The young gentleman who served the bacon appetizer was very professional and impressionable. We had excellent service. Great first experience! Thank you !
Fantastic evening with friends!! We arrived on time, but asked if we could have a cocktail at the bar before sitting down to our table - of course, no problem, take your time was the response. We sat at a lovely corner table and immediately ordered the favorite bread service with hot popovers and wonderfully moist cornbread. Along with the famous hanging bacon - flamed table side. We ordered both the Tomahawk and the Porterhouse steaks - cooked perfectly Mid-rare on the bone! Our sides were excellent too - mushrooms, mashed potatoes and the stir fried vegetables. Finally we shared the Butter Cake for dessert! All perfectly paired with our wine selection from the very extensive wine list! Christina was our server - very engaging with excellent professional service! HIGHLY recommend for any occasion! We will be back - soon!
Service was excellent. Food was excellent. All of the staff were professional, polite, and well informed. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and overall experience. 18% gratuity was included for a party of two, which surprised me a bit. But it was fine, I would've left over 18% anyway, but just be aware. The place is pretty cool, wish I could afford to eat there more often. But I will be back...

Went for a dinner with my buddy didn't know about burger night....what a deal! Food and service was amazing! Props to kitchen perfect temp on my burger! The server and the manager were top notch.
We have dined at DB's a few times, and it never disappoints! Last night was my husband's Birthday and they gave us a great table near the fireplace. The ambiance is spectacular especially if you are a horse enthusiast. Our waiter Ben was great with recommendations and very attentive at the right times. The chef came out personally to verify my allergies. Besides perfectly prepared filets, we dined on unique offerings like homemade popovers, bacon hung by cloth spins and charred at the table and lobster dumplings. The scrumptious key lime pie came out on cue with a candle. Also, the owner Paul took the time the time to introduce himself. You can tell that he, and all of the staff, take great pride in their establishment and your dining experience. This is a special place. My 13 year old daughter said it was the best food she ever eaten - and she is very discerning. And - you don't need to be a member of the Preserve to dine at DB's. This restaurant is - by far - the best steak house in Southern RI!
First time at this restaurant. We came to celebrate a birthday. The overall restaurant is very nice. Warm and comfortable is how we would describe it. Unfortunately we had a new waiter who was not very good. Took a long time to come to our table. Brought the wrong wine, never re filled water glasses. We actually asked the waitress tending other tables to assist us which she did. Again the food and atmosphere was really nice just poor service did put a damper on the evening.
The food was excellent, especially the brussel sprouts and hanging bacon. Steaks were cooked as ordered and very tasty as well. The only complaint is that the service was not what I would consider suitable for a high end restaurant. Waiter was very green and not particularly adept or attentive.
We were looking forward to dining at The Double Barrel Steakhouse - unfortunately our experience was not that good. The service was poor, we waited an uncomfortable amount of time for anyone to come to our table, a hostess did finally come over to pour water and apologize for the wait. Our waitress came by and took our drinks order. Before dinner arrived we ordered a glass of wine to have with dinner, we waited and waited for the wine and had almost finished our dinner when it arrived. My husband ordered a mashed potato side which was cold so he had to send it back. At this type of restaurant service should be the best- attention to tables has to be a priority. A bus person would have helped greatly- other tables sat with plates in front of them after the waitress asked them about dessert and gave them a dessert menu without clearing their table. The waitress was nice , that was not the problem, for a world class restaurant it was really a disappointment.
