I dine out often, both personally and professionally. I know and like good food, but can eat a meal for substance alone when need be and am able to set my expectations accordingly to be fair. We keep periodically giving this restaurant a try because of friends that either like a dish (usually a salad) and want to have it or more often have been given a gift card they need to use. The cocktails are usually very good. Regarding the food, it is typically hit or miss. Occasionally someone in our party will have a dish they enjoy. It is never the whole table and I have never had the pleasure of being one of the impressed diners in our group. The food is not the worse but it is also not the best and typically not at a level to justify the higher pricing per plate. Tonight's choice was Chicken Marsala at a fair price and it was among the worst I've had. Your safest choice here is usually a salad. Regarding the atmosphere, the restaurant is very dark in the initial areas inside the front door and adequately lit in the furthest area from the front door. The table lights are very nice. The wall decor is a little bizarre in that it incorporated ventilation grates paired up with fake flowers to create decor. The service is consistent with an average family style restaurant. Nobody has any real hospitality training. It took 3 asks to receive lemon for the water. 2 asks to receive another napkin before I simple took a setting off another set table and finding someone to refill water glasses was a struggle the entire meal. They came by to ask about cocktails but forgot to come back with water. The bathrooms are kept very clean. You can spend $30-$50 per person focused on cocktails and salads or $50-$100 per person, focused on cocktails and entrees. You'll likely be most satisfied staying among the selections that keep you in the $30-50 range. I hope this helps but encourage folks to form their own opinions.

For decades this has been a restaurant that locals know about. Avoid the tourist crush, and come here for good solid seafood and Italian specialties. The service is always friendly and attentive. The Guytanno's salad is fantastic, and the Stonington scallops are the best. Top it off with the lemon mascarpone cake, and you have a winner. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly consistent food and service across many years.

Walked in approximately 4:00, Monday Aug 25, 2025. sat at the bar, owner asked me to move far end of bar. I think seats are saved for regulars. Server asked if we wanted bread. Regulars get nice homemade bread. We got cold Italian bread. My husbands veal was not good. Mussel appetizer was good but my portobello mushroom app. was cold. Great place for regulars. Not a welcoming place.

We came here with a group of 10 and had an incredible dinner! The staff handled our large party with ease, and the service was attentive without ever feeling rushed. Every dish was excellent, but the standout was definitely the lobster carbonara—absolutely to die for! Perfectly balanced flavors, fresh lobster, and such a creative take on a classic. Everyone at the table left impressed and happy. Highly recommend Guytanno’s for a special night out in Westerly!

Guytanno’s International Restaurant in Westerly was a perfect midweek dinner spot. We had the stuffed shrimp and the chicken parm open faced sandwich both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming for a Wednesday night, with friendly, attentive service. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and the whole experience felt like a little midweek treat. Highly recommend!

It was my first time ever there. The food was absolutely incredible! The owner is a great person. I live in New York so i have had my fair share of places. This tops all of them.

Where do I begin? The owners, the food, even the cozy feeling of dining in your own living room. The mussels and halibut are the best I’ve ever had. Rhode Island is all about feeling like family, and this place captures that spirit perfectly. Thank you Tracy!

Just had lunch at Guytano’s today 7/21/2025. If you like overcooked very salty food, this is your place. I think we’ll pass on this place for awhile. It used to be a favorite of ours.

Mussel appetizer- mussels were overcooked and dry. Buerre blanc sauce was salty. Salmon entree almost overcooked
Drinks were weak and the prosecco was flat. Never to return.
