Nice place went for Sunday lunch. My wife didn't like her sandwich. I had a burrito that tasted good but gave me a stomachache. Nice restaurant over the Pawcatuck river with water views and deck in summer. Decorations look like IKEA.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. Food was outstanding and we love a few good HH specials. Next time we are in Westerly, we will be back!

We visited the River Bend Restaurant for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the food and wait staff. The food was absolutely perfect and definitely the best poke bowl I've had in some time. Also a shot out to our server Jared. Top notch service.

Service was great and the food was very good. I've been here a few times but this time I was in the mood for burger and fries. Cooked perfectly and not greasy at all. Looking forward to trying new items

River Bar offers the usual seafood oriented entrees you'd expect from a coastal New England establishment. What stands out in particular is the ambience.

Their outdoor seating is plentiful and directly on the water —going so far as to include an actual dock! Also of note in this regard is that it is seemingly wheelchair friendly, given the ramp to get down to the seating area there. There was something truly nice about catching the breeze on the water and watching the sunset reflect on the waves.

The front of house staff was attentive, even as they got busy, and seemed knowledgable about the menu. Our small party was seated pretty promptly, even though it was still toward the tail end of the tourist season here. Staff was always right back when we needed it!

The food, however, I felt was hit or miss. The raw bar was excellent. I enjoyed the brine of the six penny oysters they had on offer. The shrimp and corn tostadas were also pretty good, if not oddly a little sweet. The blooming onion was nothing to write home about, in breading or flavor, but it was easily shareable and good for a shared bite.

What should've been the star of the show however, was the lobster roll: what I received for $29 was anemic portioned and yet over-seasoned. The fried onions and what tasted like Old Bay seasoning overtook all the mellow butteriness I would've expected from Maine lobster. I would argue that if not for the texture, one wouldn't be able to tell if it was authentic or imitation lobster between the New England style roll.

I would plan to visit again next season, but I would recommend focusing on the raw bar in the drinks menu.

Dined here a few years back and it was great. This time, unfortunately, not that great.

This is really a beautiful restaurant on the Rhode Island side of the Pawcatuck River in Westerly. It doesn't look like much from the outside but once you enter you look out over the river through very large windows in the back of the restaurant.

We ordered the New England clam chowder and the Fish Burrito. The clam chowder broth was watery and the clams looked old and were not that plentiful and, they were very chewy. I guess we should have paid the extra buck and had cream in the broth, but that's not how NE chowder is generally served.

The haddock in the burrito was very tasty, but the burrito itself was massive and stuffed with rice, so much so, it was hard to find the haddock. It was just too much stuffing and quite unappetizing to look at really. The wrapping itself was delicious but we usually only eat part of that favoring instead what's inside. The french fires, on the other hand, were simply fantastic.

They have what appears to be a nice oyster bar. Several ladies sitting next to us were devouring fresh clams or oysters which looked delicious. Saw another dude eating what seemed like a terrific burger. Guess we made the wrong choice.

Our server was very efficient and friendly. And, the portion sizes were fine. However, in the end it was a disappointing experience.
