I was super excited to try the banana bread french toast they had as a special. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes, not long of a wait. However, there was a thick layer of essentially cooked egg on my french toast. I honestly have never experienced this at any other breakfast place I’ve been to. It was also clear that the grills hadn’t been cleaned often enough as my grilled english muffin had bits of other food on it and tasted extremely burnt despite it not looking burnt. After paying, the server noticed I was picking at my food and said she would’ve offered me something else. I personally won’t be back, Im mainly posting for the people who don’t like eggs on top of their french toast.

Food was basic and bland but mostly the experience was uncomfortable and awkward as the owner was very rude rushing us out the door again and again because we arrived shortly before closing time. Unimpressed with respect to the subject of manners

Local joint to me.. decided to give it a go after reading reviews. Pros: food fast out of the kitchen, staff were attentive. Cons: I ordered a soupy omelette with cornbeef/hash and wheat toast. Everything was warm but not hot. The cornbeef/hash was a strange version that I can only compare to beef jerky. Extremely!!! dry & chewy with no real taste and the soupy tasted like turkey sausage? I couldn’t taste the butter in the eggs or on the toast… it was there but no taste. The toast appeared to be lightly toasted like I prefer but when I folded it with some of the soupy omelette in it the bread snapped in half. Just an honest review no hate on the place but definitely not recommending.

We visited Sunnyside Up on Friday, August 25th for breakfast. Waitress brought two waters and one half cup of coffee. After several minutes she returned to take our order. After approximately ten minutes our orders were delivered to our table by the cook, not our waitress. The order delivered was half wrong. I had asked for a mushroom and American cheese omelet. A Western omelet was given to me. My wife was waiting for our waitress to come back but she never did. My wife went to the counter to ask for items they would not deliver. The waitress told my wife, on its on the counter. The waitress never came by our table to ask how our food was or to ask if I would like more coffee. We live in the area and we thought we found our new going out to breakfast place. We have visited the restaurant multiple times this Summer, and found that the service to be poor. We came back because the food was good. The waitress name on our check was Emily. We decided after this last experience NEVER to go back.

We went to Sunny side up for the first time it was a cute place but the waitress was bad. She dropped off our food, never came back to see if we needed anything, halfway through our meal she dropped off our check without asking if we needed anything else. We finished our meals and went to pay, they took 2 people before us, when it was finally our turn to pay the cashier said I’ll be right back and went to fill customers coffees. We were so disappointed. We have been wanting to try this place, and now we wish we didn’t.

It was a short wait until the server came to bring our menus and offer coffee. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches. After about 15 minutes she came back. She said, “I’m embarrassed to ask, but have you eaten yet?” I think she might have known since there were no plates on the table and our silverware was still wrapped in the napkin. She then goes over to the breakfast counter, grabs a bag that had been sitting there and takes it into the kitchen. She comes back with the food on plates. I asked her if she just took our food out of the to- go bag and served it to us. Server: “Well they were wrapped in foil so they should be hot enough.” Me: “That bag was on the counter for a while. S: as she is rolling her eyes “You’ll be fine. If they’re not hot enough I guess we can make two more.” Me: ok 5 minutes later S: I guess they were hot enough (sarcastically with a smug look on her face) Also without the coffee pot to refill the coffee. The sandwiches weren’t really hot enough but we ate them because we just wanted to get out of there and not bother her by being there to eat a hot breakfast. We never did get refills on our coffee.

Although we passed "Sunny Side Up" many times, we never stopped there. But, because it had good reviews and is conveniently located near Dunns Corners on Rt. 1, we decided to try it for lunch/brunch. In addition to the breakfast & lunch menus, they had a number of specials - so there was a large selection. I had a Kielbasa sandwich, which was good. My wife had pancakes, but didn't think much of them. The service was friendly, but a little slow. So, it's OK - but nothing special.

Stopped in on our way home from Newport. We enjoyed delicious omelettes, great home fries and rye marbled toast, iced coffee. Served quickly despite full capacity. Tulip honoring Mother's Day was a nice, unexpected touch. Lovely place
