My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary with Jazz Brunch and The Ocean House Bistro Restaurant. Everything was absolutely outstanding and worth every penny. The buffet style raw bar alone is worth the trip not to mention the starter and main brunch courses, bottomless mimosas, and custom coffee upon request. The desserts are all made from professional pastry chefs and are fresh and delicious. They provide you with to go boxes that you can fill with all your favorite pastries! They even made our anniversary special by surprising us with complimentary cookies and cream cupcakes with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate across the plate. Seriously, the Jazz Brunch is the best. 10/10 💯 highly recommend, will be back every year to continue this anniversary tradition. Thank you Ocean House!
My friends and I had a lovely lunch at The Ocean House. Food was excellent, as was the service and ambiance.
My husband ordered the short ribs which were delicious. I ordered the seared scallops which were under cooked, barely seared and way too salty. It came with over cooked fava beans and a few crumbs of chorizo. The little gem salad needed more dressing and the tomatoes were ice cold. Obviously made ahead and put in the fridge. Our server, Dean, was amazing.
Love the Bistro though this time food was good not great. Service always excellent. The monk fish presentation was less than appealing and taste was ho-hum. Overall, still an enjoyable experience.
Our birthday luncheon was fabulous. Rebecca was wonderful. Chowder was spot on. Crab cakes exploded with crabmeat! The blackened haddock sandwiches were terrific! Best prosecco I've had! Ended with sorbet trio, chocolate ice cream & hazelnut chocolate torte. We'll be back for the holiday decor. Highly recommend!
For 1,000 a night you’d expect the food to be good. Had breakfast and dinner, both mid but expensive. Hotel is gorgeous though

One of the best restaurant meals I've ever had. The mussels were spectacular. The service impeccable and the view unbeatable.
The Bistro is about a 90min drive but 100% worth it for those special occasions. It's been a goto for intimate birthday and anniversary celebrations. Will continue to make the trek and dine at this special place.
One of the most perfect meals I have ever had in my life, in front of a cozy fire - doesn't get better than this!
Everything was wonderful but I would prefer not to see dogs in a restaurant of this caliber. I also believe a dress code is appropriate. Baseball caps in the dining room should be taboo. It is simply proper etiquette.

We requested a plain, single hamburger patty for our dog and were charged $27 for the full burger meal. We understand it was a special request, but the price was outrageous.
Nice experience. Beautiful view and great service. Food was just bland. Had a cheese charcuterie and calamari for an appetizer. Both were good, though expected more from the calamari for the portion size and presentation for its price. Focaccia bread was good. Entree was a lobster roll. Good amount of lobster but some of the lobster was chewy and hard to eat. I've probably had a dozen lobster rolls from different places this year and sadly this might have been the worst one, all the while it was the most expensive. Dessert was mostly the best part. Had the Bacon Banana Creme Brulee which was very unique and good.
From talking to my family afterwards, we generally all had the same consensus. Dessert was the high point, but the rest of the food tended to be very bland. Just expected more. Wouldn't return for the food.

Unfortunately, our second dining experience was less than expected. It took over 15 minutes to get our drinks to the table when we first ordered them and they forgot one. Once the food finally arrived close to an hour wait, my $55.00 steak was cold along with the side of mashed potatoes. Our deserts were not up to expectations of the ocean house. They need to do better for what they charge for a meal.
I chose to have the New York Steak, Brussels sprouts, and hazelnut tart pastry. If you are looking for a hearty selection, my option was very satisfying from the proportion, to timeframe, to presentation, to taste. The atmosphere was exceptional, and the staff were exceedingly professional.
The Ocean House is gorgeous and the food selection matched the scenery. We started with the calamari, which is tender and perfectly fried. I had crab cakes that were light and full of meat with little filler, but a nice crunch of maybe panko on top; my husband had his favorite food, the burger, and it was cooked to a perfect medium-rare so were two happy diners. They also had a lovely wine list. Thank you.
