The views, service, and food were all exceptional. We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon brunch and it was great! Highly recommend. The advertise as Jazz brunch but the music is in the lobby area and in the dining room we could not hear it.
Would highly recommend brunch to anyone that loves being pampered. The food and services outstanding. We always leave very full and always with leftovers ❤️celebrating something special? Give it a try you will not be disappointed
The atmosphere was very nice and inviting and we were looking forward to the food; however, it was very disappointing. Non of the dishes we ordered had any sort of taste, the burger for our daughter was burnt, lobster roll was dry and chew, chicken the same, lobster salad was wilted and no taste at all. We traveled over an hour to celebrate our daughter's birthday and it was very disappointing.
We had a reservation for Wednesday night in the Bistro and were prepared to spend quite a bit, however, we were pleased to find out there was a fixed price, 4 course meal with wine for $55. The food and service were excellent but we had to ask if there was any specials before we received that menu. Our waiter did not volunteer it. I have no idea why and I found it very strange.
Went for the Westerly Wednesday prix fixe menu. It was a great way to try them out because they are on the high end. Now that we know that the food is really good, we will definately be back. The salmon tartar was amazing and the salmon entree was very good too. They cooked it perfectly. The shrimp appetizer was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked.
We have enjoyed dining at the Ocean House several times over the last few years. As always, the surroundings are beautiful, the facility is luxurious and well maintained. Our reservation was handled well, and service was excellent. It is not inexpensive, but reasonable value overall. Our only slightly negative comment is that the food was more "average" than we had come to expect. In the past it has been consistent with the overall quality of the experience.
The service and food was good overall, with one exception. I ordered the scallops and they did not taste fresh (had a fishy taste/smell). I didn't make a big deal of it, but was disappointed the staff didn't make an effort to do anything about it other than offering to cook it more. I would have appreciated something that made me feel heard (even just an apology from the GM). It was a shame the most expensive dish we ordered was the least good. The steak frites and clam chowder were great! Otherwise we appreciated acknowledging our engagement and the friendly waiter who followed us outside to sit outside on the deck at the end of the night. I'd consider going back but probably stick with something simpler like a burger.
We had a 5:30 reservation. There was a wait to be seated. We were seated in a corner with no ocean view. Menu needs more than just 1 vegetarian option. Drinks and apps were served promptly. Entrees took a while and dessert took a ridiculous amount of time to be served. We wanted to take a walk to see the ocean but couldn't because we didn't finish dessert until 8:00. Many different servers. Confusing to us and them. I think our desserts were forgotten about. There was no need to be there for 2 1/2 hours.
We were looking for a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, AC and an ocean view and the Bistro fit that perfectly. The service from Ryan and Tracy was very attentive and the food offerings were clearly explained. Our 1/2 size salads, main dish and dessert were simply wonderful along with very authentic focaccia.
We had an amazing lunch at the Bistro in the Ocean House. The Lobster rolls were brimming over with sweet, warm & melted Lobster Tails in a toasted & buttered roll. It also came with a delectable salad. Our drinks were devine from the bar. I had a Cosmo & a Chocolate Raspberry Martini to top it off. Our waiter, Ryan was especially perfection. He was curtious, listened & shared a part of himself with us that was very endearing and courageous. He was attentative and inviting. He made our delightful lunch even better. We can't wait to go back. Thank you for such great service!

Superb location and terrific service. The value in the jazz brunch came with the location, setting, service. The food was adequate but nowhere near outstanding. We did not enjoy the tomato bisque. The frittata was dry and relatively tasteless and the dessert buffet was bland. The jazz trio were very good but could not be heard in the dining room because they were stationed out in the main lobby. We did spend a few minutes AFTER our meal listening to them, but the jazz brunch was NOT accompanied by music as advertised given the location of the trio
Our food and service was excellent. We dined in the Bistro room facing the ocean but had a wall of closed wooden blinds preventing us from seeing the beautiful ocean at The OCEAN House. It appeared to be a deliberate attempt to separate the diners from The Coast dining room. I found it to be pretentious and was offended. We live in RI on the ocean and never tire of it's beauty which should be shared with everyone no matter which dining option you choose.
Love to take a special friend to the Ocean House to experience the charm and warmth of the hotel. We went for lunch and she absolutely enjoyed herself. She said she would like to come back when she returns for a visit next year.
