DISGUSTING GREASE PIT serving frozen fish deep fried and soaking in a tasteless batter drenched in grease. The fish broke apart into tiny pieces making it difficult to eat. Fried clams were awful, the weird crumbly batter was falling off and those were tasteless as well. White chowder had no clams in it, it’s a fish chowder apparently. The supposed scallops were definitely some kind of white fish cut into round shapes to mimic sea scallops. French fries were awful too. Nothing good to say about this place that my friend dragged me to, assuring me that it was excellent. He admits that they sucked on this visit. A waste of $85 for 2 horrible meals. We left a lot of their greasy food on the plates. Just plain NASTY.

Had bought 2 orders fish n chips and 1 order fish as they always give you many fries. However the fries were over cooked and were hard and crunchy. Wound up throwing out the fries. Fish was good, flaky and tasty.

The protocol for dining in: You turn right to the order counter and a very friendly order-taker writes your order on a paper bag. A few minutes later your order is called out and you put it on a tray. I ordered a #1, fish & chips + whole belly clams plus a glass of ice water with ice ($35.05 before tax). The order was piled high on a 12” oval plate. The fish fillet was at one end on top of a massive pile of fries and the belly clams at the other. The fish fillet was thick, nicely battered and tasty, but the batter was not crisp. The belly clams (8?) were crispy and cooked to order. (A friendly cook brought one to the table that had escaped the strainer.) The tartar sauce was ordinary but tasty. The plate of fries, however, were terribly sodden with oil, mushy, andwith zero crisp. They were almost inedible.

imitation crab meat in the chowder?? really! never seen it in my life. I went here on Friday October 17th. ordered fries, 2 fish cakes and a quart of white chowder. very very gross food. I was so disappointed. threw it all out. what waste of my hard earned money. fish still had thr scales on it. batter was raw inside. I'm so disheartening that I wasted my only extra money for the next 2 weeks on food that I threw out. do better ye oldest English. do better.

I ordered 2 fish and chips and a cup of white clam chowder. This was the first time I went to this place. Ive never had such awful fish and chips, and the chowder also was awful. My husband and I actually got sick off of the food. Then when I called back for a refund they refused to give me back my money. When I arrived there the fish was laying on a greasy dirty rack. I should had turned around and left . But I figured to try it since someone I know mentioned it to me. I will NEVER go to this place again in the future. And OSHA will be called the way they conduct there atmosphere.

Great fish 'n chips. Love the hand cut, fresh fries! Could be drained better...a little more greasy than the usual.
