They recommend reservations even at lunch, but we were seated without one. Once you have eaten there, you will understand why they recommend reservations! The service was very good, the place in clean, the menu was varied enough for everyones tastes and they had 4 specials the day we were there. The french dip, the quarter rotiserie chicken and the chicken sandwich with cheddar and bacon were beautifully presented and enjoyed by all. The sides had good choices. We were very impressed with the cooked vegetables, rainbow carrots and broccoli. Cooked with still a bit of firmness to the vegetables and not drowning in butter and salt.
Very nice atmosphere. Food was excellent. Clean. The waitstaff was so attentive to our needs. I can’t remember the name of our server. She has short dark hair and glasses and was prompt and a great server.
Very nice menu. Good service. They have two seatings for dinner, so you make reservations for 5:30 or 7:30 which seems odd but must work for them. Wings were excellent. We had wings, wine, 4 entrees and 1 desert. Total was $$ 142.76 before tip. 8 oz prime rib was most at $24.00. Most entrees are $15.
We were there to entertain our VIP guest. Bryan, our server monopolized the conversation with our guest to the exclusion of ignoring the hosts, especially me. My special request was dismissed, my plate wasn't cleared and the expression on his face was one of horror when I handed him my credit card. He made a snarky remark about separate checks which I found insulting. I felt like he was afraid he wasn't going to get a big tip. When he returned with the credit card, he sat it down without so much as a thank you, said goodbye to my guest and walked away. This is not how I like to be treated and was offended. Next time I will ask for a different server.
In this small quaint town there's this elegant restaurant located a slight bit off the town square. Nice and cozy feeling and the place is huge like it never ends. Food and service was excellent The shrimp was cooked perfectly, not over done at all.
We ate here with friends, and was met with friendly servers, and a comfortable booth. Hamburgers are to die for!! SO GOOD!!! Also, their Fettuccini with mushrooms, chicken and spinach was DELICIOUS!! Had so much I had to take part of it home. This restaurant is very popular with townspeople. Really like it and will return, when next in the area.
Food was above expectations. Enjoyed specials of blackened chicken with wonderful spicy salsa over creamy grits and the vegetable plate which combined a perfectly dressed salad with the grits, okra mache Choi, and some of the best fried green tomatoes ever. If near Abbeville you should definitely go by.

My wife and I found ourselves in Abbeville at suppertime. We had to wait until 5:30 when the Village Grill re-opens for dinner, but the wait was worth it. You might consider making reservations before you go. We walked in about 5:35 and were told they were seating us at the last available table. They weren't blowing smoke - after only about 5 minutes after opening the doors the place was more than half full. My wife had the soup and salad. The soup has black beans and beef, almost like a chili and was well-seasoned. Her salad had a variety of vegetables and between the two she had a full meal. I tried one of the specials of the evening, the Kung Pao chicken. I have lived in China 3 years and have eaten this dish many times. In all honesty, the Kung Pao chicken here was nothing like any other than I had eaten before - but here's the kicker - they pulled off their version of it. Kung Pao chicken is typically stir-fried in a wok.The chicken here was grilled and had a nice char on the outside without drying it out on the inside. It was covered with a sweet peanut sauce with some peanut pieces - really quite tasty. It was served with creamy rice. My Chinese wife would never make rice this way and made a sour face when she saw it placed on the table. But after she tasted it she liked it and wanted more bites throughout the meal. We had the mixed berry cobbler for dessert which was tasty but which was a little short on the baked pastry. Service was attentive, friendly and fast. All in all, a very pleasant dinner was had. We will go back when we are next in Abbeville.
The Village Grill is our favorite restaurant in Abbeville and Greenwood. DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend the spicy tacos and the ribs.
Enjoyed the food and the service. Lunch was a simpler menu; some of the dinner options were quite sophisticated. Menu is large and food is good. Worth a stop for someone going to Abbeville.
Had the pleasure of dinner at this local restaurant that exceeded expectations in every way. There were 12 family members in our party and all had an excellent meal. The dishes ranged from one of the day’s special Diable stuffed chicken breast to prime rib to fried shrimp to a bacon cheeseburger. All were perfect on their own. If you are in Abbeville or anywhere close it would be well worth your time to stop in.
I'm from Abbeville and no matter what else changes in Abbeville, the grill is always the same. Their food is consistent and always taste amazing .they love to use locally sourced ingredients and make sure you get your money's worth. If you're visiting abbeville and only have time for one meal, you better make sure this is your stop!
