What a great place and our waitress was great! Spent lots of time helping us understand Sake and each of the meals and the specials. Her help was spot on and the food and recommended Sake was excellent choice.

The flavors at this place are really good, which is enough for the two stars but there are definitely issues here. The bao bun bottoms were very hard, makes me wonder what kind of reheat method is being used. The ramen had such a great broth but only 2 small cuts of meat for $20? For that price I would expect more meat and toppings, the bowl as is is not worth such a high price considering what little meat and additions it has.

For a $20 ramen two thin slices of pork and half an egg seems too little to me. The pork itself was not too tender either. Overall the ramen had good flavors though and the broth was great.

The chicken bao buns overall were good, but the bao buns themselves were somewhat hard. The chicken was extremely tasty and had a very crispy skin.

We've been a few times to red door. First few visits were opening week and a few months after. The food was good, experimental, and fun. Good crowd each time. Our most recent visit was a lot different. It was Friday night a little after 8, and we had the whole place to ourselves, except for a couple sitting outside. Very quiet. We sat at the bar and the bartender was nice and prompt. The food was good, but a little too sweet. My wife didn't finish her ramen because of that. At one point, one of the workers in the kitchen came out holding his head, asking the bartender for Tylenol. He then quietly shuffled back to the kitchen, still holding his head. This moment really stuck out for me when paired with the quiet stillness of the place. We really enjoyed this place when they first opened, and we hope they can get back to the vibe they had!

Edit: double checked their hours and we came in during the last hour they were open, which could explain things quieting down a bit? 8 PM on a Friday isn't very nightbird though.

Awesome place! Stopped by for the fried rice Wednesday deal. It was a ton of food for the price and our server was super amazing and attentive. Highly recommend.

Went for dinner with friends. The dumplings are super. Great wait staff. Fun to have a bit more modern flare in Aiken. Try the desserts.??

Do I have a treat for you!

If you live in or choose to visit Aiken, South Carolina, and LOVE Asian food, you must partake of The Red Door in downtown.

I ordered a Fizzy Lifting Drink cocktail—with in-store-made kombucha—and the vegan miso.

And it was the TOPS!

If you’ve been to Japan or San Francisco and ordered ramen, this meets head on that culinary experience. The broth was savory and nourishing, and each component—corn, tofu, cabbage, bok choy and more—were delicious!

The menu has so much to offer, especially if you’re a meat eater. Of course, w/ plenty of veggie options.

1,000% recommend! ❤️

I wish I could have ordered the entire menu!
Highly recommend any of the ramen, but I really liked the Spicy crab. The broth alone was amazing. Ryan was the perfect server too! Each of his recommends were top notch!
Will visit again when in town.

Great service and atmosphere. Alcohol selection covers all the bases, and the sake selection is wonderful—found a couple new favorites there. The ramen bowls are delicious and well-portioned, and the specials are a nice change of pace. The yakisoba beef and broccoli deserves to be on the menu full time.

Had dinner at The Red Door in Aiken for the first time and tried a few dishes. The comments in other reviews are on par as far as the portions/pricing. Seems a bit pricey considering the portions. The service we received from our waitress was great, no complaints there. Some of the dishes we had were worthwhile, and some left something to be desired. I was impressed with the shrimp Bao Bun, edamame, and cucumber salad. On the other hand, I had the tonkotsu ramen and was let down a bit, I had some pretty fatty pieces of pork in mine, and it didn’t have quite enough salt (I know salt preference we’ll vary person to person so take that with a grain of salt), the green bean salad was okay, the crispy gyoza was okay, and the curry + cheese chicken wings were okay. Overall not a bad dining experience but would likely go elsewhere for dinner next time (whiskey alley…)

The Ramen I got was amazing at this place. The broth was rich, and you could taste the meat and/or veggies as if they were one with the broth. Incredible flavor! The seaweed was amazing too. I went for my 22nd birthday and the staff were very nice. They thankfully were able to nicely handle one of my more demanding guests to my party. The waiters struck amazing conversion when engaged, and I could tell there was a great work environment and atmosphere there. Finally the desert was great, and made in house too. 5 out of 5!!
