This was the second time my wife and I went for our wedding anniversary. The service was impeccable, and the food was excellent. We've decided that this will be our regular venue to celebrate our wedding anniversaries every year.
The trumpet mushroom vegetarian option was not very tasty. I added shrimp that were just too salty. made a bad menu choice. The restaurant made it right by waiving the charge and was gracious about it. The service and ambiance are always fantastic!
Special event Mead wine dinner held in the library (side room) Mead was interesting Each course was excellent Explanation of mead and each course was interesting and fun Excellent time!
I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday at The Willcox with my mom for brunch! Not only did they have a sweet birthday card for me in the table, but Ellen, our server, also made it special with a glass of champagne! Ellen is amazing! We love her so much! She always takes wonderful care of us!
Service was friendly and efficient. Food was good and prices were reasonable for the location and ambiance.
This was our first time dining at the Wilcox and it won't be our last. We regret not trying it sooner. We sat in the lobby and really enjoyed the ambiance. The piano player was a nice touch, adding to our overall experience. Our server, Tristan, was very professional, personable, and offered a lot of great suggestions. The hostess was also very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the pork chop and chicken milanese entrees; both were excellent. We also ordered the salted caramel tart that was recommended by Tristan. That was a great choice. We're glad we chose the Wilcox for our anniversary dinner and we look forward to dining here again.
Dining on the pool patio in the shade with soft summer breezes made for a lovely evening. The burrata and ham appetizer with heirloom tomatoes was exceptional and a meal in itself. The Wilcox burger was good but not exceptional. Hard to say what was missing but it lacked zest despite touting a Wilcox Sauce. Old time relaxed southern charm at every turn.
Great brunch and food was delicious! I wish the server was a bit more knowledgeable about the menu.
I do not understand having a menu with no prices. I seriously think you should reconsider that change. Patrons need to know the cost when making selections.
Thanks again for another anniversary dinner that was delicious for our 25th anniversary! See u soon!

Service was lacking. Took a while to get offered refills. Didn't see the server for long stretches of time. Wanted butter for my toast. That took forever to even find the server ti ask for it. Edit: Manager called and followed up. Very impressed with that. Still one of our favorite places for brunch. This was our first not great experience there.
Quaint old hotel restaurant. Some of the tables are in the lobby. Service a little slow, but friendly. Pork chop is good.
Food and service was outstanding. My husband was disappointed with his salad and discussed it with the manager, who was very responsive. (The salad didn't contain all the goodies expected from the those listed on the menu.) The wine pairings were perfect with our meals.
The service was great. The chicken Milanese was spectacular. The wedge salad was fresh and very tasty. The NC rainbow trout was less pleasing. The curry carrot spread was overpowering. Also the price point for one trout filet seemed excessive.
Once again my wife and I were impressed with the Easter Buffet that Matt and his team put together for Easter. Food was great and service was tops. Would always recommend the Wilcox for either a holiday meal or a romantic dinner.
